“ Moms are as relentless as the tides. They don’t just drive us to practice, they drive us to greatness. ”— Steve Rushin
[PRESENT TIME: Rouen, France: 9:45 AM]
Under the warm sunny morning, a younger blonde woman flew and landed in the forests near the mansion where her future alternate son had remained for years. She curiously looked at it and deeply thought of the place.
" So, this is where this young man lived when he and my older self had met, " she thought and walked over to the place. " This place look more than a century old, yet nostalgic. "
Reaching onto the premises, she strolled around the garden and took a deep breath of fresh air coming from the trees. Then, she turned her attention to the vegetable garden and some flowers planted. Carol smiled and felt pleased to see with such greenery and colors at the entire lot.
" I wish I could be in this world for good, " the blonde half-Kree wishfully thought while looking into the radiant blue skies with moving fluffy white cirrus and cumulus clouds. " Surely, it may be fifty to sixty years beyond my timeline, but my older self has deceased here. This place seems to be peaceful, despite being war-torned by the invaders. Oh well, it seems I have to explore around the place. "
Walking around the place, she found a porch with some benches and outdoor table and chairs. Carol wondered if she could spend time here with her alternate future family.
" Definitely, this is a wonderful place to spoil and spend time with my grandkids, " she thoughtfully mused and moved her head to and fro. " Too bad, I haven't invited them to visit. Wait, Amnon! Maybe, he's around here or busy at work. " Then, she exasperatedly sighed, " Nevermind, I'd better tell him and his family to come here over the weekend. "
Carol continued walking and noticed her mind stone was glowing brightly in golden yellow light. Then, she could sense someone coming. Suddenly, there was a strong gush of wind approaching her. Somehow, it seemed to be coming from the skies. The half-Kree woman refused to use her seventh sense or her powers connected with the Mind Stone since there would be no element of surprise of who or what caused the strong wind.
" It's good to see you again, Colonel Danvers, " a deep male voice calmly echoed.
Just behind her, there was a tall blue skinned and well built man. He had a short silvery-white locks and a pair of verdant irises in his eyes. He was wearing a mask, a red suit with dark blue trimmings with a bright yellow star on his chest, and a golden yellow bands.
Carol slowly moved around, smiled at the newcomer, and greeted him, " Likewise, Mr. Marvel. I presume you have come from an important mission around the globe. "
" Did you just use your powers for that? " Mr. Marvel musingly asked.
" Just an educated guess, " she chuckled and shrugged. Then, she looked intently at the Kree man and said, " I'd know my alternate future son anywhere, behind any disguise. "
Mr. Marvel seemed to be uncomfortable and nervously gulped when the younger alternate version of his mother. He became sweaty and secretly read her mind. Carol intently smirked and placed her both hands on her waist.
" What's the matter, Kid? Did the flerken get your tongue? "
" My...T-There must be a big m-mistake..." the masked Kree Eternal wryly chuckled and returned to his normal tone of voice. " Mom, what on Hala?! Are you supposed not to..."
"...Disclose your true identity, my boy! " she continued the thought and laughed. " Besides, I already knew who you really are! That's why I got here aside from visiting you back in America! "
Amnon or Mr. Marvel grew embarrassed and exasperatedly sighed upon hearing his mother's statement. Then, he deadpanned, " Te parler de mon autre maison en France, ce n'est pas une bonne idée, maman. (Telling you about my other home in France isn't a good idea, mother.) "
" Mais au moins, j'ai un moyen de créer des liens avec mon fils dans cet univers. (But at least, I have a way to bond with my son in this universe.) " Carol sweetly mused and kissed her son's cheek.
" Fine..." Mr. Marvel sighed and laughed. " It looks like you want more stories! " Then, he looked around and reminded, " I'll go get changed in my normal self. I can't remain in my heroic alter-ego in my civilian status. You know, some evil entities or anomalies might endanger the both of us. "
" I understand, Amnon. You're just being protective with your family, " his mother sincerely smiled. " And I won't risk my boy's safety as well. "
" Thanks, Mom, " he nodded. " Let's head to the mansion. I'll prepare you some snacks and tea after I get changed. "
" That will be a pleasure. "
" Sooner or later, you'll be seeing Gourai and the kids here. I'll invite them to see us here. "
" Of course, it will be splendid, my dear boy! "
The Kree mother and son entered the mansion as they had a lot of things to discuss and recall those memories to be shared and told.
