PAST
-3 MONTHS LATER-

-I looked to the house in front of me, no feelings coming forth. I slowly approached the building, turning the key in the lock and opening the door.

It was quiet. No signs of life. "Hello?" I called, my voice echoing off the walls. "Is anybody home?" I got no response.
Quietly, I made my way through the house, a place I used to call home, noticing all the things that had changed. The pictures were torn from the walls, glass shards laid on the floor. It felt.. dead. Abandoned.

I continued to move through the house, searching for any sign of my family. "Agatha? Rio?" I called out, a slight tremor in my voice.
I made my way up the stairs and into what used to be my room. My things were still the same. Everything laid untouched, dust accumulated on the surface.

I walked around, taking in the atmosphere. I stopped when I saw a note on my desk. It was dusty, but not as much as everything else. It was newer.
Hesitantly, I lifted the paper up and began to read:

Y/N,

If you ever happen to come across this, if you ever come back to this house, don't try and find me. I cannot find it in myself to forgive you for what you've done, what you didn't do. You are a sad excuse for LIFE. Your mother would be disappointed in you.

A.

I felt tears pool in my eyes as they scanned over the words. My mother had entrusted me with this power when she was taken from us. She had told me I was ready. That I was going to do great things with my gift. But here I am, doing nothing and disappointing everyone in my life.-

PRESENT DAY

"I choose to live." She whispered, grabbing both of my hands tight. Almost pleading with me to let her go back. "I want to live." She said louder, nodding and looking back down at her body.

"Then let's go." I smiled, opening a portal and bringing her directly to where she lay. "All you have to do is re-enter your body." I said, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze. "I'll see you on the other side."
I opened my eyes, feeling Agatha's heartbeat start to regulate. Rio grabbed my left hand, staring at Agatha. We waited patiently for her to open her eyes, but she never did. Seconds flew by, minutes, hours... and nothing.

"Where is she?" Rio asked, looking to me with tears in her eyes.
"I- I don't know.." I stuttered out, unsure of what to do. Her heartbeat.. It was there, she was alive. Why wasn't she opening her eyes? "She must be trapped in her mind somewhere.. I-"

"I can find her." Teen said from beside me. "I can try." He slowly sat at Agatha's head, placing his hands on her temples. I watched as he took a few breaths, focusing completely on the woman before him.

I felt Rios hand begin to tighten. Not out of comfort, out of fear. Fear that she had truly ended Agatha's life. Fear that she would never get to hold her, touch her, tease her again.
I pulled her closer, wrapping my arms around her body. "She's alive. She just has to find her way back, okay?" She didn't say anything, only a meek nod into my shoulder.

Time felt like it was moving at the speed of a snail. Each second passing eating away at me. We sat, waiting and waiting for her to wake up.
"I can't do this anymore." Rio sighed, standing from her spot on the ground.
"Rio.." I whispered, looking up at her.

"No." She snapped, tears already forming in her eyes. "It's my fault. I did this." She cried.

I didn't know what to say. It was her fault but.. it wasn't at the same time. Her other half takes over sometimes and it's hard to break through. Like Agatha with her power. Sometimes she can control it, and sometimes it takes over her body. Her mind.
"It isn't your fault." Agatha muttered from beside me, Rio's neck almost snapping at how fast she turned to her.

I watched as my sister launched herself into Agatha's arms. "I'm so sorry." She repeated over and over as Agatha calmed her down.
"My love.." Agatha whispered. "Amor[Love], it's okay." Rio looked up into her eyes, her tears still flowing. I watched Agatha wipe my sister face dry. "I chose to try and take your power. You didn't do anything to me."

"I took him." She whispered, catching all of us off guard. Her eyes focused on anything by Agatha, silence hanging in the air for a moment.
"You had no choice." Agatha whispered, placing a delicate kiss to Rio's forehead. "You were just doing your job."

"Hey." Alice said as the door closed behind me. "I was wondering when you'd be back."

"Hey.." I replied. "I didn't think you'd still be here." I said, walking past her and into the kitchen.
"I wanted to make sure you guys all made it out safe." She replied, following behind me. "Plus, you did say I could make myself at home." She joked.

"I did say that." I smiled, pulling a drink from my fridge. "You're welcome to stay as long as you want. I have plenty of room." Part of me hoped she would. The house had been empty for centuries, the past haunting every inch.
Her face softened. "Thank you." She said, reaching a hand over and squeezing mine. "Not just for letting me stay here. Thank you for saving me."

"It wasn't your time to go." I thought back to the argument Rio and I had. The way she was so angry at first, but then her true self shined through in the end. In that moment, Rio was fighting death for me. "You have a life to rebuild still. All of us do."

Alice nodded, a smile gracing her lips. "Speaking of building a life..." She trailed off. "What's gonna happen with you and Lilia?" She smirked slightly.

I had forgotten. After the stress of everything with Rio and Agatha, the pain I had endured. I had forgotten. "Oh my god." I whispered, moving back to the door. "I'll be back! Don't wait up." I yelled as I rushed out of the house.

Quickly I transformed and made my way into the sky. I didn't know where Lilia lived, not by heart anyway. I could feel her though. I could sense her.
I followed the feeling, the wind flowing through my hair as I made my way there. Softly, I landed in front of a small shop, transforming back into myself.

I didn't bother knocking, just letting myself in; Listening as the bell dinged above me. I heard a noise from the back, Lilia emerging shortly after. "We're close-" She stopped in her tracks when she saw me.

I wasted no time. I quickly walked over to her, taking her face in my hands and slamming our lips together. It had felt like years since I had last kissed her. She sighed into my mouth, her hands gripping at my waist.

I kissed her, over and over; Until I couldn't breathe and my lips went numb. "You sure do know how to make an entrance." She joked breathlessly, staring up into my eyes.
"Only the best for my girl." I smiled, not missing the way her hands tightened around my wait; the small intake of breath.

"Your girl?" She asked in a whisper, a glimmer of hope in her eyes.
"If you'll have me."
