"I fight for you. I'll protect you, and I won't let you get hurt, because I love you, Astra," she said, her voice filled with determination.
I wasn't ready for a confession like this. While she spoke, she kept her focus on me, completely unaware of Kirk sneaking up behind us. The ancestry faded for just a second, and Kirk took that chance, rushing at me and landing another punch. The impact jolted me back to reality, and I quickly shifted my focus, starting to hit back with everything I had.
I glanced up at the sky, feeling a rush of warmth. Frye was coming at us like a meteor, and I barely dodged out of the way. I managed to get next to Althea, but the force of Frye's power was overwhelming. It hit with such strength that it killed Kirk, and we were thrown straight to the portal.
"The portal is open for the next 5 seconds! Be quick, travelers!" the king shouted urgently.
As the dust began to clear, my heart dropped when I saw Frye on the ground, unconscious. Panic surged through me. As the light engulfed us, I could only hope this wasn't the end.
