"He what?" I ask.

"He has gone to Rivendell King Thranduil." Aragorn says.

"Why has gone to Rivendell, might I ask Aragorn son of Arathorn?" I ask.

He looks down. His face stiffens. My eyes narrow.

"I cannot say my lord." He says.

"And why not?" I stand up from my throne.

I walk down. The dwarf eyes were drifting. Cleary he's no short of wit and everything else. Why on earth would my son folly with such a low life of a dwarf? However, ... I've learned to put aside my prejudice against the dwarfs.

"It would be a betrayal of my loyalty to your son." He says.

"My son. And what of his father?" I raise an eyebrow.

"I cannot say my king." He lowers his head.

"Thranduil, Legolas has good sense, but we have more pressing concerns." Gandalf the White says.

"And what might those be?" I ask turning my head.

"The spiders." Gandalf the White huffs.

"Very well. You have your way Gandalf the White. Aragorn, take some of my guards to find this so-called nest." I say.

"As you wish my king." He lowers his head.

"And? What of me?" Gimli son of Glion huffs.

"I assume you were going with Aragorn son of Arathorn." I say.

"You didn't even ask me!" Gimli huffs.

"I found it not necessary. You would agree to go with Aragorn one way or another. I did not have the patience for that." I turn.

"You-!" Gimli stops himself.

"This meeting is over. Do get on with it." I say sitting back down.

Aragorn and Gimli turn and leave.

"Do not fear for Legolas." Gandalf the White says to me.

"You do not have children." I point out.

"That is a wise point, but he's strong." Gandalf the White points out to repute me.
