I look out the window. I feel... weird lying in bed all day but I still feel the burning pain. Every time I move. Every time I raise my arm there's pain. I look at the little fawn. It was all curled up and asleep on the side of the bed. I move my hand over it. I had known this for a while, that his mother was killed. Either by men or orcs, my guess is orcs. Orcs are foul and filthy creatures. I lean back on the pillows.

Is Malachi filthy as an orc? He just stabbed me and shot me with an arrow fouler than death. I've tried to reason with him. I do not understand him. I can understand his pain. I can understand why he's screaming out. I have felt his anger before. It's hotter than dragon flame.

Legolas.

The voice. It sounds familiar.

He killed me.

I've learned to think of this voice as a message.

"Who?" I ask.

He said he loved me.

"Who did?" I ask again.

The voice fades as quickly as it had started. I let out a breath. Is this a message or am I just going crazy?
