Chapter 410. Sitting Down For Breakfast Can Be Hard

" Well... I guess that went well... Right? Also, Ruby, thanks for having my back."

" Hm? You've nothing to thank me for, I just told the truth. Besides, last night R-"

/ Whoop!/

" You've yet to act out of character, if you'd really have been brainwashed, Sarah and Anna would've been able to tell! Isn't that right, everyone?

Ruby was about to say something, but Emily quickly covered her mouth and finished her sentence... I guess they've made up? That's nice, I guess? Currently, we had just reentered the mansion after I asked the mob to disperse and return to their day. I assured them that I'd be fine and I'd be returning to my normal daily responsibilities after seeing Warrick and Aqua in a few days. In actuality, I'll be heading over after breakfast. Currently, inside the mansion, the usual suspects had followed Sarah, Anna, Cynthia and I back into the mansion. Ruby, Emily, Charlotte, Alice and Flare seemed to have just followed the flow of the conversation and walked in with us. I didn't mind at all, but this might make it more difficult for someone... I guess it's best to just get the question out... But first, I guess I should respond to Emily.

" Well... Okay... Now with that over. I don't know about all of you, but I'm in the mood for breakfast. Would you guys like to join us?"

Everyone nodded their heads with that, we all began to walk into the dining room and find our seats. Sarah and Anna were on either side of me, opposite of us was Alice, Charlotte and Cynthia, last but not least, were Emily, Ruby and Flare sitting around the table. I thought everything seemed to be normal until I heard the footsteps charging into the dining room from the kitchen. I looked at the hallway where I heard the sounds coming from. Before long, all of the servants came barreling into the dining room led by Jim. Behind him were the Butlers Aaron, Brandon and Chris. Behind them were their sisters, Amy, Brenda and Catherine. And finally, behind the Maids was Deborah wearing quite a happy smile on her face. Behind her was Janet along with Ellie and Wendy. All of them full of smiles. Actually, now that I get a look at them all as they were lined up in front of me, they were all smiling.

" Welcome back, Lord Matthew!"

They all bowed their heads, some more, some less. But the fact that they were genuinely happy permeated through their words. I was actually at a loss for what to say. I wasn't expecting this... Also, all of this interaction with people who care about me in comparison to the 2 months of dealing with that idiot trying to get into my head. I just said the first thing that came to my mind.

" I'm thankful to be back everyone. I'm sorry if I worried you all. I'll be more care-"

/ ROOAAAHHHHH!/

Just as I was beginning to find some words that seemed appropriate, my stomach interrupted me. It stopped my little speech dead in its tracks before I could really get it going.

" Fufufufu..."

" hehehe..."

Sarah and Anna tried to hold back their laughter at my stomach growling.

" Hahahaha!"

Ellie failed miserably at it.

" Ellie!"

Janet was angry at Ellie again, but her hand trying to hide her smile gave away that the adage of " mother like daughter" held true.

" Why don't we get to work before the people outside hear his stomach. I'm guessing you want the usual, Matthew?"

" ... Yes, please..."

I accepted Jim's offer... By " the usual" he meant eggs, wild game sausages and oatmeal with some fruit. It's a great breakfast made even better because Jim uses different spices every time, so it's always fun to eat it every day. With that all finished, I guess I can just focus on enjoying my breakfast with family and friends. It'll be nice after all the chaos of the past 2 months.
