Chapter 375. A Drink And A Vagrant?

" I still think we could've been in there with them."

" They're probably talking about a couple of private matters."

" Like what? The weather? There shouldn't be any secrets when it comes to fighting the Demons. I mean, what's even the point in keeping something secret to us? I'm the Hero! I'm every Human's ally, aren't I!?"

Luke and Lucy were going back and forth with each other. Luke couldn't seem to comprehend that most likely, Jessie and the Guild Leader, Alexis, were an item at some point. I mean why else would they want to force us out of the office? There's no way the girl is really that shy if she's an Adventurer. She'd need to be able to stick up for herself when it comes to distribution of loot or quest rewards. If she couldn't, then it's not even worth being an Adventurer. I think that's one of the real silver linings of being part of the Hero Party, because we're given whatever is needed for us, we don't really need to fuss about the quest rewards. We usually just donate it all to the orphanages we come across as we travel. Well... Northern Air does... Luke uses his share to buy high-quality clothes that he happens to come across.

" Just cause you're a Hero, that doesn't mean that you'll be able to watch ex-lovers talk about their feelings, Luke. You should have a bit of delicacy, otherwise people will stop wanting to be around you."

" But people like how straightforward I am, Lucy."

" Are you referring to all of the Nobles whom you've made friends with since arriving here? Need I remind you that you have the same ranking as a Duke? The Highest Rank a Noble can achieve outside of marrying and becoming Royalty? Do you really think they'll tell you the truth of the matter?"

" Shut up, you just hate the fact that I'm a lot more social here than you are."

Lucy was beginning to get fed up with her brother's attitude. This is usually how things go when she tries to speak some sense into him. I'm not quite sure why she still attempts to help him, he's ignored and refused any advice she's given him. Whether it's from not wanting to lose to his sister's arguments or because he actually thinks what he's doing is right, is beyond me. Either way, this definitely isn't helping his case in Laura's eyes, in fact, it's like he wants to lower his impression more and more every day.

" Here you are! All of your drinks! Who got the orange juice?"

" Thank you, Ms. Suzi."

" Oh, don't mind me, Ms. Cleric. I'm a bartender! This is what I do best!"

Laura quickly thanked our bartender. Ms. Alexis told us to use her tab, so we quickly came down to the bar and did as she said. And with that, we've met, Ms. Suzi. She was the bartender, she was a young woman, most likely only a few years older than us, she was dressed in a green and white barmaid outfit. She had long black hair and blue eyes. Ms. Suzi's features were quite delicate, it gave the feeling that being a bartender is something beneath her, but perhaps because of that... Or maybe in spite of it, her personality is quite open and upbeat, she quickly introduced herself and asked for our orders with the speed and movement of a professional. It was quite clear that she had been doing her job for quite a bit of time. For some reason, Laura seemed to have taken a liking to Ms. Suzi for some reason. She's seemed a bit more cheerful ever since Suzi introduced herself.

" Who had the Yellowfruit juice?"

" That's me!"

Ashley quickly answered to Ms. Suzi's question. Ashley wanted something citrusy today and she chose Yellowfruit. the juice of the fruit tastes like something close to strawberries mixed with lemons. They obviously cut the drink with sugar to help even out the drink's flavor. Ashley couldn't seem to get enough of it. She's always liked sour candy and the like whenever we went out to play back in high school. It only made sense that she'd find some way to get her fix here in Gaia.
