                                                                       Harris Quinton's Point Of View

He needs to die; I refuse to allow either of us to leave this forest unless the other is dead! All of the discourteous actions! The disrespect to our Ancestors! Our Culture! Our values! He dares to tread on all of it! For what!? A pipedream of escape! The Fool must learn that his actions have consequences! I won't allow any more of this reprobate's callousness to insult our People a moment longer! He's run from me! He's hid from me! He's attacked me! But I refuse to fall! Now I have him where I want! Rolling on the ground, among the mud and muck, with all of the worms and insects, it's exactly where he belongs!

" Holy Heal!"

Eh? Ah! So that's the magic that's kept him standing. He used it to heal the large gash I made on his right arm... I was aiming to lop off his arm at the shoulder, but he moved at the last moment. Not just that, but his flesh... It's tough. Like a monster with a tough hide. Perhaps I've been looking at this wrong? What I'm hunting is less of an animal and more of a B or A-Class Monster. That would explain his tenacity when it comes to surviving. It also explains why I was bit... That White Spear that punctured my Nature's Embrace spell. It's dangerous, even though I was encased in its protection, I'm still suffering from burns all over my torso, arms and legs. If I didn't coat myself in my mana for an extra layer of protection, I would've suffered from 3rd degree burns or even worse. So far, it looks like I'm only suffering from very light 2nd degree burns. I should thank my Gods for that, not all Gods. The one who made him His Knight is one I'd curse instead of praise.

" So, that's the best you got?"

" What!?"

This fool! He's... He's taunting me!? Does he not realize the position he's in!? That arrogance! He needs to die!

/ CLANG!/

I launched myself at him with a sword strike... Again, he guards with that red blade of his. It doesn't matter in the long run. He's grown too tired; I can tell that he's running out of stamina and mana far too quickly to keep this up for long. Case in point!

/ CREAK! THUMP!/

" HUAH!"

A simple kick to his stomach sent him rolling away from me. I usually don't find torturing the weak to be my cup of tea, but for this cretin, I'm willing to make an exception. Looking at him just fills me with anger. He can't even raise himself off the ground to prepare for my next attack. I'll place my sword through his heart just as he did the Royal Torturer. That will be a fitting end for this foolish ape. I raise my blade as I approach, this will be the last stroke of the battle! After this, My King will reward me handsomely, all for doing something I'd do for free if I'd have known how disrespectful this Human clown is.

/ SHING!/

" HOLY BOLT!"

" NOO!"

/ BOOM! WOOSH!/

" HACK! HAUGH!"

That fool! He aimed his spell at the ground! He made a smokescreen for himself with the impact his spell made onto the ground!

" Nature's Breath!"

/ WOOSH!/

Using a depowered version of a spell of mine, I quickly cleared the area that was covered in smoke and dust. I look around... Thankfully, my Ancestors are fine, just covered in dust. I'll need to report that a cleaning will be needed in Ascension Forest after I'm finished here tonight. But first, I need to locate him again. That isn't difficult now. The fool didn't wipe the blood off of him, the droplets show me exactly where he went. Behind one of my Ancestors. He thinks a tree will bring him salvation in this fight? Perhaps if he didn't treat them as his personal playground they would, but we live in the real world. My Ancestors are clearly on the side of their descendant. Anything else would be foolish to think of.
