I sat on my bed one night, writing in my journal. It seemed as though I couldn't stop, no matter how bad my hand began to feel like it was knawing down to the bone... I had to keep writing... just enough to keep my sanity.

My phone rang.

"Where are you?"
"At the house..."
"Ohhh ... I'm outside"

This was Journey, my second heartbeat. I forced myself from my journal and out of my door to see her with the most beautiful smile on her face.

"SOOOOO ... what's going on?" she would ask.
"Life..."
She never looked at me in a puzzled kind of way. I liked that about her; it made me feel as though I was at least a BIT sane. She would only smile at my responses. She understood.

We talked, until I had begun to grow tired. I went inside and threw myself onto my bed and closed my eyes. Then... my phone rang again. I looked at the screen.

"Not tonight, okay?" I whispered into the microphone.
"When are you going to let me love you?"
"I said not tonight! I've told you before I cannot take the heartbreak anymore."
"I Am Not Eternity!"
And then the phone hung up. I felt a tear run down my face. What was I going to do?
