I ran home early that next morning, trying to catch my breath along the way. I knew my mother would be furious with me. I expected continous yelling and screaming when I arrived, but instead, I got "You want sausage with your eggs or do you want bacon?"

My eyes widened . Why was she so calm?

"You know, I'm not really all that hungry. I think I'm going to go lay down now."

She nodded at me, then proceeded with her morning routine of scrambling eggs and frying bacon.

I laid completely still, staring at the ceiling for answers. And, just like the blank wall, it had no answers. It was up to me to decide how my opportunity was going to go. He called again, but I declined. I needed some peace. Just for a while...

I didn't contact anyone but Eternity's family. I checked on them while they were worried about me as well. I would tell them I was doing fine, even though I wasn't. It was all just a big front. I didn't want to stress them out even more when they were already going through so much.

Eternity had been gone for 2 weeks now, but I could still remember that twinkle. I would never forget it. That's the twinkle that prevented me from moving on ...

I saw him again. I began to tell him what had occurred and burst out in tears. My pain could not be contained anymore; I was sufferring. He held me, whispering "Our love is forever".

Deep in my mind, I knew it wasn't love. But, he comforted me. He let me know that everything was going to be alright. So in a way, it was love... it just wasn't me and Eternity's love.

He asked me if I loved him once. I told him I couldn't respond and he was perfectly fine with it.

But still, in the back of my head, I knew that something just wasn't right.
