Detective Stinson was no help. It had felt like we had ran out of options. Then an idea popped in my head...

THE POLICE STATION!

One of our friend's mom was a police officer. I called Fay.

"Hello?"

"Fay, it's me, Journey. I need your help."

"What can I help you with?"

"Is your mother still an officer down at the station?"

"Yes"

"You think you can help us find out what happened to Hope?"

"I don't know, Journey. That's pretty risky; my mom could get in big trouble."

"But it's for Hope. It's been 3 years. This is our only option to find her."

"... okay. Meet me at the station at 2."

"Won't there be policemen still there?"

"Oh, the day shift doesn't do anything but take naps and eat donuts all day. They won't even know we're there. That's why my mom works night shift."

"Thanks Fay, we'll see you at 2."

We had 5 hours to figure out any remaining clues we could find. We decided to pay Hope's mom a visit.

We arrived at 7804 Hummingdale Drive faster than we had expected. Hope's mom lived on the other side of town, down by the old daycare center that Hope, Pierce, and I used to play at. We pulled up and were instantly greeted my Hope's little brother, Pebbles. He was 3 when Hope had went away, now he was 6, approaching his seventh birthday in less than a week.

"Journey, is that you?"

"Yes, it's me Mrs. Blaire."

"I haven't seen you in forever!"

"I know... 3 years!"

"So what brings you around this way?"

"Is Hope's room the way it was when she left?"

"It is."

"May I try and find something?"

"You are welcome to look in her room."

Me and Pierce walked down the hall and entered Hope's room. The bed was made and the dressers were emptied, but most of her belongings were still there.

"What are we looking for?"

"Hope told me that if she ever got the chance to leave here, she knew exactly where she wanted to go. She had a postcard of the place in her room. She showed it to me once, but I forgot the name. We've got to look for it."

"Well okay..."

We proceeded to look through the collections of old notes and papers on her desk. It was taking forever ... and then ...

"Hey Journey, what's Majuro?"

"Pierce, that's it! It's Majuro!"

"What about it?"

"It's a clue Pierce! She told me that if she ever left here, she would go to Majuro."

"Good clue Journey... but how are we going to find her?"

"We'll figure that out at 2."
