Finding Hope

Majuro was more than 6,000 miles away and, after the fourth Google search, Pierce and I had nearly lost hope. We tried to look up plane tickets, but the only place that would fare passengers to Majuro was Washington, D.C. That was still 8 hours away. Getting to Majuro didn't even seem like the hard part; the hard part would be getting to Washington, D.C. just so that we could get to Majuro.

We decided to look into that airline and figure out traveling plans later on.

Next Trip from Washington, D.C. to Majuro, Marshall Islands : July 26

The date was currently July 19. We had exactly one week to get our tickets and make it to Washington, D.C.

"Pierce, I don't know about this. What if we don't have enough money? What if we don't board the plane in time? What if it fails?"

"... what if it doesn't?" he smirked at me.

He processed our order for two one-way tickets to Majuro taking off at 6:00 AM on July 26.

I was still unsure about this. Was this going to work out? I sure hoped so. We only had 7 days. These were going to be the most stressful days of our lives.

The minute after Pierce processed the order, time started speeding up, because we were getting ready to pack up for D.C. before we knew it. It was the day of July 24, the day before we left for D.C. Pierce and I were sitting on the couch and I was trying to talk to him, but it seemed like everything I said to him went in one ear and went out the other.

"... go see her, Pierce."

He looked over at me with a confused look.

"You heard me... GO!"

Without hesitation, he hopped up and sprinted out the door.

He came back home about 2 hours later, with the biggest smile on his face.

"So... how was..."
"IT... WAS... GREAT!"
"What happened?"
"She likes me, Journey. She really likes me!"
"What did ..."
"She kissed me, Journey! My day has been complete."
"Wait, what? I don't even know how this girl looks."

He proceeded to give me a full description of Maria.

"She's short, about 5'2... with light blue eyes and dark brown hair. Her skin is a pretty tannish color. And her smile is wide and beautiful!"

I smiled him. I knew that, sooner or later, he would fall in love with her.

It was about 5 in the afternoon and tomorrow would be spent driving halfway across the country, so Pierce decided to cook dinner at home. He ate and cleaned up the kitchen, along with the tidying up the rest of the house. I had begun to grow tired at around 7, so I washed up and laid down. After saying my prayers and going through my nightly thought routine, I fell into a peaceful sleep.
