"So I was right?" I reassured myself.
"Yes, Journey, you were right."
"Okay, so... I was right. The clue is solved, we know where she is... and she has a child. But... until we find Hope, where am I going to live?"
Pierce got up from the love seat, grabbed my bag and my hand, and ran me down the hallway. He opened one of the doors. We walked in the room. It was plain; there was a bed, a television, a dresser, and a nightstand.
"It's not much, but we could always paint the walls and buy some rugs and..."
I hugged Pierce harder than I had ever hugged him before. Not only did he offer me a place to stay, but he offered me a home that I could make my own.
"Thank you Pierce!"
"You're welcome, Journey!"
He smiled at the ground and crossed his arms...
"...You like her, don't you?"
"Who?"
"Maria..."
"WHAT?? WHY WOULD YOU SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT??"
"...Pierce..."
"Yes I do, I really do!"
"There's nothing wrong with that, Pierce! Maybe she likes you, too!"
"... I hope so. Well, I'm burnt out from today. I'm going to hit the sheets."
"Okay. Thanks again, Pierce."
"No problem, you're my best friend!"
He walked down the hall and I walked into my newly acquired room. It was going to take a little getting used to and A LOT of decorations, but it was going to be fine. It was my new home. I laid in bed and thought for a while...
