1 Corinthians 1:10 NIV
[10] I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.

Edward stood beside Charlie, the two of them working seamlessly in the kitchen as he assisted with chopping vegetables and stirring sauces. Charlie, clearly amused, glanced over at Edward, muttering with a chuckle, “Can’t say I expected to see you like this, helping out in the kitchen.”
Edward offered a half-smile. “I’d say I’m full of surprises, sir,” he replied, his tone warm.
Meanwhile, Bella sat nearby, watching them with barely veiled irritation. She shifted in her chair, clearly wanting Edward’s attention, and finally decided to speak up.
“It’s kind of funny seeing you do this, Edward,” she remarked, trying to sound casual. “I don’t think you ever helped me cook when we were together. You know, because I didn’t need help.”
Edward kept his gaze on the task at hand, only offering a short and polite, “It’s different with Vidalia.” His response was quick, to the point, and didn’t invite further conversation. But Bella, clearly undeterred, continued.
“Tyler and I had a blast at the prom,” Bella commented with a fake laugh. “He’s actually a pretty good dancer.” She shot a glance in Edward’s direction, but his attention remained fixed on his work, his responses still brief and polite.
“That’s nice to hear, Bella,” he replied, his voice neutral. He shifted to pass Charlie a bowl, deliberately keeping his focus on helping and letting Bella’s words slide off him.
Just then, Vidalia entered the kitchen, radiating warmth and a serene smile that softened the room. She moved gracefully over to the dining area, beginning to set the table as she shared a lighthearted look with Edward, who offered her a warm smile. Bella shot Vidalia a side-eye but quickly masked it, turning her focus back to Edward.
“Tyler’s actually planning to take me out again next weekend,” Bella continued, her voice slightly louder now, clearly trying to stir something in either Edward or Vidalia. But Vidalia only nodded and replied kindly, “I’m glad you had a good time, Bella. It’s nice to hear you’ve been having fun.”
Bella hesitated, seemingly frustrated that her attempts to create tension were failing. She turned her attention back to Edward, her voice laced with a hint of a challenge. “You’re really good at serving others, Edward,” she said, her tone slightly mocking. “Vidalia must love having you at her beck and call.”
