May 6, 2019 - The Arrival of Baby Archie

It was a day of celebration for the royal family as news broke across the world: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. Born in London and weighing 7 pounds, 3 ounces, Archie's arrival was announced on social media with a heartfelt message:

"Their Royal Highnesses' son weighs 7lbs. 3oz. The duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives."

As soon as she heard the news, Princess Matilda eagerly turned to her parents, Prince William and Catherine, asking about her new cousin. At ten years old, Matilda loved babies and was excited at the thought of having a younger cousin to play with, someone she could help look after just like she did with her own siblings.

Days passed, but the Cambridge family had yet to meet baby Archie. At home, Matilda found herself wondering aloud if they'd ever have the chance. One afternoon, she and Princess Charlotte were playing Monopoly in the family room when Matilda paused thoughtfully, asking her little sister, "Do you think we'll get to meet Archie soon? I mean, he's our cousin after all. I think it'd be so fun."

Charlotte shrugged, unsure what to say. "I don't know, Tilly," she replied, moving her piece along the board. "Maybe we'll meet him later, when he's a little older?"

As time went on, Matilda's curiosity grew. One evening, during a family dinner, she finally asked her parents, "Mummy, Daddy, why haven't we gone to see Archie yet? Aren't we supposed to meet him soon? And are we going to his christening?"

The room went quiet for a moment as William and Catherine exchanged a glance. They had always encouraged honesty within their family, but this was a delicate subject. Catherine took a deep breath before gently replying, "Well, darling, Uncle Harry and Aunt Meghan are trying to keep things very private with baby Archie. They want to enjoy this time together as a small family."

Matilda frowned, puzzled. She couldn't understand why a family event would need to be so private. She was used to family gatherings, to cousins and relatives coming together, and the thought of missing out on meeting her new cousin felt strange and disappointing.

Matilda, her natural curiosity piqued, went further. "But why wouldn't they want us to be there? We're family! And it's Archie's christening. We're always there for those."

William chose his words carefully. "Yes, we usually are. But they've decided to make this an intimate event, just a few people, and we have to respect their wishes."

Matilda wasn't satisfied with the answer, though. She could sense there was more behind her parents' words. With a slight grin, she joked, "Maybe Aunt Meghan just doesn't want us to come. I think she's hiding something."

The whole family laughed, but William and Catherine knew Matilda's comment carried a hint of seriousness. Matilda had always been perceptive, and she couldn't help but feel that Meghan's desire for privacy wasn't the only reason they hadn't been invited. She even joked, "Now I get why Donald Trump doesn't like her!" Her family burst into laughter again at her dry humor, finding it both funny and slightly cheeky.

Over the next few days, Matilda couldn't shake her curiosity. She felt a strange distance from her cousin, someone she hadn't even met yet. She spoke with George about it, who seemed less bothered. "He's still a baby, Tilly," he shrugged, more interested in his new soccer game than the nuances of family gatherings. "We'll probably meet him someday."

For Matilda, though, this wasn't just about meeting a baby. She felt an unease about her family being so divided, a feeling she couldn't fully put into words. Her family had always seemed close, unified in the traditions and roles they shared. Not being part of Archie's early life felt like a break from that unity, and she struggled to understand why.

Later, while discussing this with Catherine, Matilda's mother tried to offer some comfort. "You know, Tilly, sometimes family members make decisions that we might not fully understand. Your Uncle Harry and Aunt Meghan have chosen a different path, but that doesn't mean they love us any less. It's just... different."

Matilda sighed, still unsure. She trusted her mother's words, but something about the whole situation left her feeling unsettled. Catherine could sense her daughter's struggle and gently added, "As you grow older, you'll learn that family can sometimes be complicated. People change, and life sometimes leads us in unexpected directions. But our love for each other remains, even when we don't always see each other."

Her mother's words brought Matilda some comfort, and over time, she did her best to let go of the questions swirling in her mind. She focused instead on her siblings and the family moments she cherished. But every so often, when she thought about Archie and the little cousin she had yet to meet, she felt a twinge of sadness, wondering if perhaps their family would ever be quite the same.

Author's Note: The next time Princess Mathilda is meeting President Trump, I think people need to have some good opinions on him and I think to create a meeting between Mathilda and Baron Trump. So please don't yell at me If you don't like TRUMP ^^. I don't like Kamaala Haaris and Joe Biden . So I'm sorry.
