Anui

"Where have you been?"

I can tell I startled her from the way she jolts up and puts her hand over her chest to calm her breathing.

Mir was dressed nice. She replaced her sweatpants for some jeans, and her hoodie for a cropped, light pink blouse. Her hair was in a bun and she had on...Lipgloss.

Interesting.

"I was with June."

"Doing what?"

"Hanging out. He offered to take me out to eat and I can't say no to food can I?" She states, taking off her Converse and avoiding my gaze.

Over the past two weeks, she's constantly been with June. I wasn't jealous to my own surprise, I was actually intrigued. Usually we were practically with each other twenty-four seven. Ever since their first date, that has changed to twenty-two six.

I remember when June first told me about his plans, the spark in his eyes showed me he was really excited to go on that date. And of course, I had to give him my approval. I could say I helped him on the date to an extent and from the way Mir acted once she got back, I could tell it went well.

She came back smiling, she didn't scream or cry, she didn't complain about how dreading it was being so close and alone with him for such a long period of time. She just smiled and jumped on my bed then went straight to bed.

At first I wasn't going to pester her about it, but I do need answers.

"So you've been around him a lot now. I thought you weren't willing to be around him without me forcing you to. Oh how the turn tables." I sigh.

"If we are going to stick to the plan and get his dirty deets, I'm going to have to stick by his side, that's what you said." She shrugs.

To be completely honest, I almost forgot about the plan. The two of them started seeming like an actual couple. Occasionally  June would come up to her and spark a conversation. I third wheeled as I listened to them talk. They were getting along, like genuinely getting along. I don't know whether to be scared or to support.

June hasn't tweaked yet, it's like he really did change, and it's scary.

He actually started to...Warm up on me? Mir is clearly happy, no matter how much she denies it, I can tell her mood has shifted when he's around her.

I couldn't say I shipped, but if things do work out, I guess the plan could be scrapped.

"So when is your next date?"

"I don't know" she shrugs again.

"Most of the dates are spontaneous, he just shows up to my dorm and drags me to his car. I wouldn't even call them dates actually, dates aren't supposed to be forced."

"So why do you agree to go?"

She stays silent cause I clocked her. I wouldn't be surprised if she comes up with some illogical excuse.

"Cause I don't want to be harassed later on for saying no Anui!"

Yea yea

"Mkay, you seem to enjoy them tho. I mean before you saw me here you were smiling."

"I wasn't."

"Yes you were."

"No I wasn't"

She most definitely was.

"Look Mir, I'm gonna be honest with you, and this may shock you but, if you start liking him, I won't object. You seem surprisingly happier, I never thought I'd say this but maybe June actually isn't that bad. But, if he hurts you, come tell me and I'll handle his ass right away."

"Really?"

I nod.

"Well it's not like I like him or anything, I just, I don't know. I'm finally experiencing dating I think that's it, I was robbed of this during my high school years, so it just feels nice to be pandered too. That's all. It's not a crush or anything."

"If you say so Mir, if you say so."

Just then her phone buzzes and she quickly retrieves it to read whatever message displayed on her screen.

"I have to go, I have to meet someone."

"Who?"

"Uhh..."

"Just go."

With that she grabs her shoes and leaves the dorm. To think we'd go from hating June to somewhat liking him is surreal.

However, I do find it cute how he wrapped his arm around her waist as they walked to his car. He opens the door for her and buckles her seatbelt. I really do wonder if Jamirlya can work. I let go of the blinds and plop right on Mir's bed.

I wonder if he paid for that fee already.
