The night carried on with laughter, music, and the joyous energy of friends and family gathered together. The dance floor became a whirlwind of laughter and celebration as one song blended into another, the guests fully embracing the festive mood.
At one point, Charlie caught Alastor and Vox, pulling them both into a playful hug. "You two are absolutely perfect together," she said, her voice filled with affection. Vaggie joined her, nodding in agreement. "And honestly, it's about time we had a good reason to party," Vaggie added with a wink.
Angel strutted over, teasingly patting Vox on the back. "Who would've thought? Mr. Tech-Head and Mr. Old-Timey finally tied the knot. Guess there's hope for the rest of us," he said with a smirk.
Husk raised his glass from where he was stationed by the bar, offering them a nod of approval. "About damn time, you two," he said gruffly, though the smirk on his face showed he was clearly happy for them.
In a quieter moment, Alastor glanced over to where Rosie was still keeping an eye on Niffty. Seeing Niffty sleeping so peacefully, bundled up in her mini monster truck, filled him with a new sense of purpose. She was officially his now, and he was determined to give her everything he'd never had himself: love, stability, and a family she could trust.
Vox squeezed his hand, catching the direction of his gaze. "She's going to have a good life with us, Al. Better than we ever got," he murmured softly, understanding the unspoken thoughts in Alastor's mind.
Alastor nodded, his expression tender. "And it's all because of you," he said quietly, giving Vox's hand a warm squeeze in return.
As the party began to wind down, the lights dimmed slightly, casting a warm glow over the room. Guests began to gather around the newlyweds, each offering heartfelt goodbyes and words of encouragement. Glitch, always the life of the party, gave them both a hearty slap on the back. "Well, you've officially upgraded to married life. Better not glitch out on each other now!" she joked, earning a laugh from the crowd.
As they finally said their last goodbyes and made their way out of the party, Vox and Alastor looked back one last time at the room filled with people who'd come to celebrate them. They were surrounded by warmth, laughter, and the love of family, old friends, and new.
Stepping out into the quiet night, Vox pulled Alastor close, pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead. "To us," he whispered.
"To us," Alastor echoed, feeling content in a way he hadn't in years.
And with that, hand in hand, they walked into their new life together—ready to face whatever came their way, knowing they had each other, a mischievous little girl to love and care for, and the unwavering support of friends who had become family.
As they drove home under the dim glow of the city lights, the car was filled with a peaceful silence. Niffty was curled up in the back seat, clutching her bunny, eyes half-lidded and drowsy from the excitement of the night. Alastor kept glancing at her through the rearview mirror, a soft smile playing on his face as he watched her little head nod with exhaustion.
Vox reached over, resting his hand over Alastor's on the steering wheel, their fingers intertwining. "She's out like a light," he whispered with a smirk. "I bet we'll be carrying her up to bed."
"Wouldn't be the first time," Alastor replied softly, his tone laced with amusement.
Just as they turned onto the street leading home, a small voice broke through the quiet. Niffty shifted, still half-asleep, her eyes barely opening as she looked up at Alastor's reflection in the mirror. "Daddy?" she mumbled, her voice a soft, sleepy murmur.
Alastor's heart skipped a beat, and he felt a warmth spread through him he hadn't known he could feel. He met Vox's gaze, both of them smiling at each other with a mix of surprise and tenderness.
"Yes, sweetheart?" Alastor replied, his voice soft as he fought to keep the emotion out of it.
Niffty gave a sleepy smile, her eyes drooping again. "Thank you... f... for tonight..." she whispered, her words trailing off as sleep claimed her once more.
Vox chuckled quietly, squeezing Alastor's hand. "Looks like you're officially Daddy now," he murmured with a grin.
Alastor could only nod, his heart full, feeling an unexpected happiness settle over him. He whispered back to Vox, "I think I've never been prouder of a title."
By the time they arrived home, Niffty was fast asleep. Vox gently lifted her from the back seat, cradling her as Alastor opened the front door. Together, they brought her inside, carefully tucking her into her bed. She murmured something incoherent as she nestled down, hugging her bunny close.
Alastor brushed a stray strand of hair from her face and leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. "Goodnight, little one," he whispered.
As they left her room, Alastor took Vox's hand, leading him to their own room. "I didn't think it was possible to feel this... complete," he admitted quietly, looking at Vox with a grateful smile.
Vox wrapped his arms around Alastor, pulling him close. "Me neither," he replied, his voice just as soft. "But here we are."
And as they drifted off to sleep, they knew they had built a family and found a happiness neither of them had ever expected.
