That afternoon, Vox slid into the passenger seat of Papermint's car, a hint of excitement bubbling beneath the surface. "Let's go," he said, glancing at his watch. He needed to make it to work, but first, there was something else he wanted to do.

As they drove, Vox suddenly leaned forward, pointing down a side street. "Pull over here," he instructed, his voice firm yet playful.

Papermint raised an eyebrow, unsure of what was happening. "Why are we stopping? There's nothing here but—"

"Just shut up and wait in the car," Vox interrupted, already opening the door and stepping out.

With a bemused expression, Papermint watched as Vox strode into a big fancy building. Time ticked by as he waited, his curiosity piqued. What was Vox up to?

A few minutes later, Vox burst back through the door, a triumphant grin plastered on his face. He jumped into the passenger seat, slamming the door shut. "Okay, let's go!" he declared, settling back into his seat as if nothing unusual had happened.

Papermint opened his mouth to speak, ready to question Vox's mysterious errand, but Vox cut him off. "Tell no one we were ever there," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument.

"Uh, okay? But why—"

"Because it's a surprise," Vox replied with a smirk, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "And I want you to join us for dinner tonight. It's going to be a special night for everyone."

Papermint blinked, processing the sudden invitation. "Wait, you want me to come to dinner with you and Alastor and the others? Why?"

"Because I like having you around, and they do too, and it'll be fun," Vox said casually, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "Plus, I think you'll enjoy it."

Papermint chuckled, feeling a warmth spread through him at the unexpected invitation. "Alright, I'm in. But you owe me some details about that place you just went to."

"Later," Vox said, waving a hand dismissively as they pulled back onto the road. "For now, let's just focus on getting to work."

With that, they drove off, the promise of the evening hanging in the air between them.
