The GIRLFRIEND Deal

CHAPTER 10

"Hi Anika, Mallika here" Anika couldn't believe her eyes. There was another one from her.

"Let me know when you are free"

Anika quickly typed a plain Hi. It was immediately received on the other end and soon enough her phone started ringing.

She left the room and rushed towards the pool area to pick up the call

"Hey, got your number from Priyanka" Mallika started the conversation.

"It's ok"
"What did you want to talk about?"

"Wo kal se every event will be starting. I really have a reputation to maintain. I hope Shivaay is fine because he wasn't behaving like he is. I know you are there for him and please make sure he doesn't do anything that affects me or my image. I am asking for a favour here" Mallika was genuinely scared that Shivaay might try to taint her character at every chance he will get

"Hey Mallika, don't worry about it. Mai puri koshish karungi. And he has changed" Anika felt bad for lying but she has to act like a girlfriend who changed her damaged boyfriend

"If he has its pretty great. Because I could never pacify him when he was angry and he never listened." She chuckled

"Accha. See you tomorrow ji" they did the formalities and after chipping good night ended the call. When she turned around, Om was standing near the entrance

"Hi Anika"

"Where are you going for breakfast?" He asked

"I don't know. Shivaay is planning for some surprise" obviously she had to lie because this isn't a date but a meeting away from the family to discuss future

"Aah. Quite romantic. Shivaay usually isn't a person who goes out for brunch kinda dates. Either it would be a bougie trip once in a while or nothing. You changed him"

Anika didn't know what to reply. She doesn't know how Shivaay was as a boyfriend.

"Do tell me if the conversation turns awkward"

"Arey nahi nahi. I was also curious. Mallika aur Shivaay ka breakup kyu hua tha? She seems like a nice person" Anika let her intrusive thoughts win and decided to ask the question

"Oh. Here I thought you knew it because none of us do"  Om said honestly

"No. He just told me he had an ex and thats it. I never asked but now I am kind of curious. I wanted to ask him but why to act like a jealous michni now"

Om laughed at her choice of words.

"To be honest, from what I remember, Shivaay came home drunk that night and was blabbering that he cannot live without her. She was his lifeline and all that thing. We knew he loved her too much but that day it was all out in front of me and Rudra. Although we made him sleep that night and the next week he didn't even come home. He was sleeping in our hotel and when I tried contacting Mallika, usne bola they have broken up and he is acting crazy now. Obviously maine pucha ki kyu hua breakup but she simply said they fell apart. After a week, he announced that he is going to India office for some urgent work and weeks turned into years and Shivaay never returned until now"

"Oh. He must have really loved her" Anika replied with a sigh. She didn't get the proper answer she was hoping for.

"Yea. Nevermind. I am going to sleep"

And they both retired back to their respective rooms.

Shivaay was arranging his sofa to sleep when Anika interrupted him

"Mai sofe pe so jaungi aaj, aap bed le lijiye ( I will sleep on the sofa for today, take the bed)"

"That's not what a gentleman does" Shivaay replied snatching the pillow from her hand

"Kafi dino se soye hai sofe pe. Mai manage karlungi ( you have been sleeping here for days. I will manage as well)" Anika snatched the pillow back.

"See I might be rude but I am not a pig. Take the bed and sleep comfortably" he took the pillow back and lay down on the sofa

Anika unknowingly smiled but then her mind was not ready to accept the defeat

"Arey this is a return gift"

"Kis cheez ka?" Shivaay asked

"You are taking me out tomorrow. Uska thankyou"

"Thank you for coming to an entire new country. Now go to sleep"

Sadu is behaving extra cute today
