Shivaay stepped into the Oberoi Mansion, rolling his shoulders to ease the exhaustion from work. Just as he walked in, his eyes landed on her—Anika, standing near the stairs, seemingly about to leave.

His lips curled into a smirk as he made his way toward her. “Aise kaise bhaag rahi ho, Anika? Mujhse milkar toh jao. (Why are you running away? Meet me at least before you go)”

Anika sighed, already exhausted. “Mera aajka kaam khatam hai, Shivaay.(My work for today is done)”

“Achha? Toh phir shaam ki chai mai banau?” He leaned in slightly, lowering his voice.

Anika stiffened but refused to react. Instead, she straightened her posture and turned toward the door.

Before she could take another step, Shivaay’s voice turned serious.

“I need to discuss something with you. Study mein chalo.”

His formal tone surprised her. She hesitated, but something in his gaze made her follow him inside.

As soon as Shivaay shut the door behind them, Anika turned to face him, her arms crossed tightly. “Shivaay, tum jo yeh flirting, flowers, aur—” she exhaled sharply, “Stop doing all these. I won't repeat”

Shivaay leaned against his desk, his eyes studying her carefully. “Maine kya kiya?”

Anika scoffed. “Seriously? Do din se phool bheje ja rahe hai aap ghar pe! Har jagah flirt kar rahe hai, breakfast table pe, kaam ke beech, sabke saamne ya chupke, and you are asking maine kya kiya?(You have been sending me flowers for the past two days, you are flirting during breakfast, during my work hours, in front of people and alone and you have the audacity to ask me what did you do?)”

Shivaay smirked. “I am just expressing my feelings”

Anika’s expression hardened. “Feelings?” she snapped. “You were running away from me up until the last week”

Shivaay straightened. “Pehle mujhe samajhne mein waqt lag raha tha, aur ab jab sab clear hai, toh main peeche hatne waalon mein se nahi hoon. (Earlier, I was trying to figure it all out but now that I have, I won't back down)”

Anika ran a frustrated hand through her hair. “Shivaay, aap yeh samajh kyun nahi rahe? We are different people. You are a tycoon and I am a mere employee that too someone who has just began her career. Tumhare aur mere beech kabhi kuch ho hi nahi sakta.”

His jaw tightened. “Is this the only reason you can give me?”

She averted her gaze. “Aur reason chahiye?”

Shivaay took a step closer. “Haan, because I don't see it as a valid reason. I don't care about all of that”

Anika clenched her fists. “Kyunki aapko nahi farak padta iska matlab yeh nahi ki sab kuch theek hai! I will be termed a gold digger, I will be treated differently at work because I am connected to you. ”

Shivaay’s eyes darkened. “Log kahenge unhe jo kehna hai. I know you are talented and I know you are not a gold digger”

Anika let out a humorless laugh. “Of course because they won't tell you this. I will be the one on their radar or the back bitching.”

He took another step forward, voice lower, more intense. “I get what you are saying now. Isme se ekbar bhi you didn't say that nothing's gonna happen because you don't feel the same because you do feel something for me.”

She stiffened.

He watched her reaction carefully before continuing, his voice laced with frustration. “Tum mujhse bhaag rahi ho kyunki tumhare dil mein bhi kuch hai, ya isliye kyunki tum mujhe hurt nahi karna chahti? (You are running away from me because you have something for me in your heart or you just don't want to hurt me?)”

Anika finally met his eyes, her own flashing with frustration. “Can you stop being delusional for once?”
