CHAPTER 4

"Tumhari family me kaun kaun hai Anika?(Who are in your family Anika?)" Jhanvi asked as the duo settled down with all the family members.

"I am an orphan" Anika managed to say. Though her identity is fake in front of them but this is the truth of her life.

"Baccha, aaj se we are your family" Pinky hugged her and she smiled genuinely.

"Tu khote batana tha na hume iske baare me sab? Khane me meri bacchii ko kya kya pasand hai?(And you should have told us about her Shivaay. What are your favorites in food Anika?)" Dadi asked.

"Desi ghee me latpat kuch bhi chalega(I love anything which is drowned in Indian ghee)" Anika said and they all laughed.

"Shivaay's choices has changed, I suppose" Om commented.

"Agreed." Rudra added.

"Why?" Shivaay asked. He cant risk at this point of getting caught.

"Jaisi bhi hai mujhe bari pasand hai meri bahu(Whatever it is, I love my daughter in law)" Pinky said and Anika raised her brows.

"Maa, kya kya bahu bahu laga rakha hai? She is feeling awkward" Shivaay said.

"Chup ho ja, mujhe na sikha(Shut up, dont teach me)"

"Mile kaha the dono?(Where did you guys meet?)" Om asked. Shivaay could sense that Om and Rudra aren't very much satisfied.

"Charity event me. She runs a chain of NGOs in Mumbai and I happened to be the sponsor of a few." Shivaay answered.

"Haa aur phir mujhe pata chala how generous he is" Anika smiled and Shivaay mentally clapped.

"Lekin inki tadi se kaise pyaar hua?(How did you fall in love with his attitude?)" Rudra questioned.

"Everyone is special Rudy. Kya pata inki tadi se hi mai attracted huyi(Who knows may be I am attracted to his attitude only)"

"Baatein hi karte rahoge kya ab? Khana lagao re(Will you just talk here? Serve the meal)"

Just then the two heads, Tej and Shakti entered the Oberoi Mansion and their eyes fell on Anika.

"Anika" she smiled and bowed down to take blessings.

"Jeeti raho(Bless you)"

"God bless" they said.

"Shivaay, my boy" Tej hugged him in no time.

"kaise hai bade papa?(How are you Uncle?)" he asked.

""Just the same." He said and then Shivaay hugged his father, Shakti.

"We all missed you, specially your Maa" he whispered in Shivaay's ear.

"Aap fresh ho jaaye, hum khana lagwate hai(You get fresh, we will serve the food)" saying this Pinky and Jhanvi went to the kitchen.

The dinner time went well with them. Anika who has never got the warmth of a family is overwhelmed by their reactions.

"Kal Prinku ke sasural wale aa rahe hai shaadi ki date fix karne aur pandit ji bhi(Tomorrow, Prinku's in laws will be coming to fix the date for the marriage and the priest too)" Dadi announced

"Wait, shaadi ki date fix nahi huyi hai?(Wait, isnt the marriage date fixed yet?)" Shivaay was shocked.

"Bhaiya, aapko kya lagta hai ki mai aapko bas apni wedding me bulaungi?(Brother, what do you think I will call you just for my wedding?)" Prinku was a bit sad,

"I didn't mean it Prinku, mujhe laga sab confirm hai" Shivaay tried to explain. Anika was looking at the duo.

"I wanted you here in all my events including this" she was about to get up but Anika held her hand.

"Priyanka, inki zubaan fisalti rehti hai tum muh na lago inke. Meri baat mano to wo andar hi andar naagin dance ke sapne dekh rahe hai apni behen ki shaadi me(priyanka, his tomgue slipped and you ignore it. If you believe me, he has dreamt of performing snake dance in your wedding)" and all the members laughed but Shivaay was hell embarrassed, still maintain his fake smile.

"Haa of course" Shivaay added.

"maaf kiya chalo(I forgive you)" priyanka smiled.

"You are lucky to have her" Om said

"Uss Mallika michni se to behtar hai(She is better than Mallika)" Pinky muttered but was audible to Anika who looked puzzled. Shakti nudged Pinky under the table and everyone realised the blunder.

"Kya hua?(What happened?)" Anika asked.

"Nothing beta" Tej covered up.

Shivaay got up from his seat and went to his room.

"Kya zarurat thi uska naam lene ke liye Pinky, wo bhi Anika ke saamne?(What was the need of mentioning her name, that too in front of Anika?)" Jhanvi told Pinky.

"Jethani ji, galti se nikal gaya, slips of the tongue ho gaya"

"Mai dekhke aati hun unhe(I will check on him)" and Anika followed Shivaay to his room. He was standing near the window gazing at his phone in particular.

"Aap aise uthke aa gaye?(Why did you leave?)" Anika asked but he didn't reply.

"Hello?" Anika made him turn towards her but he didn't face her.

"Not now. Please go" he said rudely.

"Kidhar jau? Ye kamra mera bhi hai(Where to go? This is my room too)" Anika taunted. Shivaay held his head in irritation.

"Niche jao yaar, be with my family" he spat angrily. She was taken aback by his sudden anger and decided not to interfere.

She went outside leaving him guilty and he punched the wall nearby.

She collided with Om on her way downstairs who passed a smile.

"Hey, we didn't have a proper introduction" Om said.

"I know you. Omkara Singh Oberoi, khandan ka dusra beta, an artist by profession" Anika said in one go. She memorized it all.

"Ye to google par bhi mil jayega(These are available in google)" Om said and Anika chuckled.

"Of course" Anika said. They are quite popular names in the business world.

"Hum aapko ghar dikhate hai(Let us show you the house)" Rudy came and she nodded.

"Mujhe to pata hi nahi tha ki sadu Singh Oberoi ke bhai itne sweet hai(I never expected Arrogant Singh Oberoi's brother can be so sweet)" She chipped and the three laughed.
