The week had been nothing short of exhausting for Anika. Every single day was packed, either at the Oberoi mansion overseeing the final details of the project or back at her office, ensuring everything was on track. With the deadline looming at the end of next week, there was no room for errors.
And yet, in between all the chaos, there was him.
Constant texts, random calls, and stolen moments before he left for work had made the hectic schedule bearable. Shivaay always found a way to remind her that she wasn’t just drowning in deadlines, she was also someone special to him.
On Friday evening, as she came out of her washroom after getting freshened up, the doorbell rang and a delivery guy stood there.
“Ms. Anika?”
“Yes?”
“This is for you.”
He handed her an elegant black box tied with a silk ribbon. Anika frowned but took it. “Who sent this?”
The man simply smiled. “Mr. Shivaay Singh Oberoi.”
Her breath hitched.
She closed the door and sat on her sofa. Raising an eyebrow, she opened the box, only to find a stunning emerald-green dress inside. The fabric was soft, luxurious, and looked like it was made just for her.
A note was placed on top.
"Wear this for our date tomorrow, please."
She swallowed hard.
Just then, her phone rang and his name popped up on the screen.
"You really think you can pick out my dress?" she asked as soon as she picked up.
Shivaay smirked. "I don’t think—I know you’ll look breathtaking in it."
Anika rolled her eyes but couldn't stop the smile that formed on her lips. "What if I decide to wear something else?"
Shivaay replied back, "Then I'll spend the entire evening imagining you in this dress anyway. Or maybe without it"
Anika gasped, "Shivaay!"
He chuckled. “Just wear it, okay?”
She exhaled, looking at the dress again. Emerald green.
"Thik hai and thank you," she mumbled.
Shivaay grinned. "Good. Now, get some rest. You have a date with me tomorrow, and I want you looking extra pretty."
Anika narrowed her eyes. “To aap ye keh rahe hai ki mai normally pretty nahi lagti?(So you are implying I don't usually look pretty?)”
Shivaay chuckled. “No. I’m saying that tomorrow, I might just forget how to breathe.”
Her stomach flipped at his words.

Saturday arrived, and true to the definition of a corporate employee's weekend, Anika spent the entire day in laundry or cleaning the house. By the time she was finally done, she barely had time to get ready.
She showered quickly, then slipped into the emerald dress.
And when she looked in the mirror…
She hesitated.
It wasn’t just pretty. It was beautiful.
The dress hugged her in all the right places, making her feel elegant and confident. She did some touchups and put on her only pair of heels.
