When Shivaay steps back into the Oberoi Mansion after three days closing the deal, his eyes instinctively search for her. Anika.

She’s there—but she doesn’t even glance at him. She’s busy, moving around, handling something in his room. He sees her instructing one of the guys, adjusting the curtains, making sure everything is perfect.

Shivaay (clears his throat) and says, “Anika.”

She barely spares him a glance. “Haan, boliye.” Her tone is polite—too polite.

His brows furrow. “We need to talk.”

She fixes a pillow. “Main kaam kar rahi hoon.”

He clenches his jaw. “Woh baad mein bhi ho sakta hai. (You can do it later)”

She finally looks at him, her expression unreadable. “Baat bhi toh baad mein ho sakti hai, na? This is my job” And with that, she walks past him, leaving Shivaay staring after her, his frustration bubbling beneath the surface.

He corners her in the hallway—
“Anika, ruko—”

Anika doesn't stop and replies, “Shivaay sir, I am actually busy.”

He even accidentally-on-purpose bumps into her near the staircase—
Shivaay: “Ab toh baat kar sakti ho? (Can we talk now?)”
Anika with a blank expression, “Aapko kuch chahiye Sir?”

The way she calls him ‘sir’ again, that damn politeness—it’s driving him mad.

On the fifth day, Anika doesn’t show up for work at his house. She might have gone to the office

Shivaay stares at his phone for a solid minute before giving in and messaging her.

Shivaay: Hi Anika

No reply.

He waits. Five minutes. Ten.

He messages again.
Where are you?

Still nothing.

Just as he is about to type another message, his chat screen refreshes—

Blocked.

He blinks.

What. The. Hell.

His grip on the phone tightens, his heartbeat slamming in his chest.

She blocked him?

Shivaay never gets blocked. He’s the one who decides when a conversation ends, when someone stays or leaves. And here she is, cutting him off like he’s nothing?

Anger burns through him.

Fine.

She doesn’t want to answer his texts? Then she’ll have to answer him.

That night, Anika is just about to lock her house when she hears a knock.

She frowns. At this hour?

When she opens the door, she freezes.

Shivaay Singh Oberoi is standing there, his breathing heavy, his blue eyes stormy with fury.

Her fingers tighten on the door handle, her heart pounding. “Aap yaha kya karrahe hai?(What are you doing here?)”

He steps forward. She instinctively tries to shut the door, but he stops it with his hand, pushing it open just enough to meet her gaze.

His voice is low, rough. “why did you block me?”

She lifts her chin defiantly. “what will you do?”
