"Hi Mallika and Shashank" Anika volunteered and they smiled back at her.
"You are looking gorgeous" Mallika complemented Anika and she chipped a thank you
"Meri pasand hai(she is my choice)" Shivaay uttered those first words and Mallika immediately locked eyes with him.
"Congratulations. Now we are family" Shashank forwarded his hand towards Shivaay for a handshake but the later didn't reciprocate.
"I am not very comfortable with you calling this a family. For sure you will be my sister's family but my family... Nope"
"Hey man. I am really trying to be civil here. I am not your employee" Shashank couldn't tolerate Shivaay's answer
"Mallika apne husband ko samjhao ki mujhe tameez na sikhaye (Mallika, make your husband understand that he shouldn't teach me manners)"
"I am right here. You don't need to talk via my wife" Shashank assumed that Shivaay has forgotten everything after Anika but that's not the case.
"Hum ek acche maahol ko kharab nahi karte hai. Let's go honey (let's not ruin a happy moment)" Mallika wanted to take her husband away from there but Shivaay's words made her furious
"Apne husband ko Anika se dur rakhna. Use meri cheeze kafi pasand hai (Tell your husband to stay away from Anika. He loves my stuff)"
They left from there to join the family.
"Mai property ya cheez nahi hu aapki(i am not your property or a thing)" Anika spat as soon as they left
"Don't take it seriously. Tum kuch bhi nahi ho meri"
"Mallika bhi aapki cheez nahi thi (Mallika was also not your stuff)"
Shivaay felt guilty of using such a cheap word but he usually doesn't have control over his mouth when he is angry. Today is probably one of those days where he will be uncontrollable and unbearable.
"I am going upstairs"
Anika went to the kitchen to see the preparations.
"Shivaay thik hai beta?" Jhanvi asked Anika.
"Yes Aunty. You know confrontations are usually hard but he is trying" she replied back
"Mai to kehti hu Shivaay bohut lucky hai ki use teri jaisi understands karne wali partner mili hai. ( I will surely say Shivaay is very lucky that he got an understanding partner like you)" Pinky side hugged Anika.
"Waise Pinky Aunty, Shivaay ko abhi niche nahi bulana hi sahi rahega. (I feel Shivaay shouldn't be called downstairs now)"
Both of them agreed and the rest of the evening went.
The guests left right after dinner as they need to prepare for tomorrow's press conference. The families were very happy in the alliance and Anika tried her best to mingle with everyone but her mind was elsewhere. Whats the reason for their breakup?
"Anika didi, Shivaay bhaiya shayad aag babula hoke rahenge. Room sambhalke jaiyega(Shivaay brother must be in fireball state now. Be careful)" Rudy warned Anika
"Arey zyada gussa chadha to Pani phek denge unpar, thande ho jayenge ( if he is too much angry, I will just throw water on him, he will be calm)" Anika's reply made Om laugh
"Pehle bhi aise hi gussa shanti karte ho uska(you did this before as well)?" om asked
"Ha ha. Kayi baar. Jug isiliye room me rehta hai ki Sadu Singh Oberoi shant ho paaye (A lot actually. That's why we have jug in the room to calm down irritated Singh Oberoi)"
"Nice name Di. I will also him that" Rudy was happy hearing it
"Jaise wo phone phekta hai,waise tujhe uthake phek dega (the way he throws his phone, he will throw you)" Om patted his back
"Chalo I will go"
Anika silently entered the room and Shivaay was sipping his coffee on the sofa while scrolling the phone
"Arey itni raat ko kali coffee pina accha nahi hai (It's not good to have black coffee at night)" Anika told him
"Mujhe nahi pata tha Sita Maiya doctor bhi hai. ( I didn't know Sita Maa was a doctor as well)" Shivaay replied sarcastically
"Peena hai pijiye. Maine niche aapke bhaiyo ko bola hai ki mai aapke Pani phekti hu gussa shant karne ke liye. Wo puche ko chaukna nahi (If you want to drink, go ahead. Also, i told your brothers that I pacify you by throwing water. If they ask you don't be shocked)" she said it so casually that Shivaay felt he heard something weird
"What??? You told them a person has guts to throw water on the great Shivaay Singh Oberoi?" Shivaay spoke loudly
"Haa. Baki person ka I don't know, I don't care but unke hisaab se mai to bandi hu aapki, I can" Anika said proudly.
"Bandi? You think my brothers feel you are my captive?"
"O bete ki!! Bandi matlab kaidi wala bandi nahi, girlfriend wala bandi(Bandi doesn't mean captive, it means girlfriend)"
"What? Who calls a girlfriend bandi?" These lingos arent popular amongst the aristocrats
"Who calls a girlfriend a stuff?" Anika rolled her eyes and took her belongings to the washroom.
Her reply was enough to shut him up. He hated the way he behaves around Mallika but Anika can't be his moral police. She isn't hired to do that.
Anika came out after a hot shower of 30 mins and found Shivaay sleeping on the couch. While approaching the bed, she found a note on the bedside.
"Sorry" it says.
Unknowingly her heart smiled as she looked towards sleepy SSO
"Bagad Billa itna bura bhi nahi hai" she thought to herself before drifitng off to sleep
