Anika stepped inside the grand Oberoi Mansion, her heart beating a little faster than usual. The house was unusually quiet, the usual morning rush missing. Maybe I came too early…
Her eyes scanned the living room, and that’s when she spotted them—Shivaay, Omkara, and Rudra, sitting around the center table, deep in discussion.
For a moment, she hesitated. She wasn’t sure if she was ready to face them all together, especially after everything that had happened. But then Omkara noticed her.
“Anika,” he greeted with a small smile, making both Rudra and Shivaay turn toward her.
Shivaay’s gaze softened the moment he saw her. “You’re here.”
She folded her arms. “Dadi kaha hai?”
"They will be here in a few minutes"
Rudra pouted. “Waise aapko Sunday humse milne bhi aana chahiye naa ki bas dadi ke kehne pe(You should visit us on Sundays on a regular note as well, not only when grandma asks you to)”
Anika gave him a pointed look but couldn’t hold back a tiny smile. She walked closer and sat down across from them. “I am literally here from Monday to friday. What were you guys discussing?”
Om sighed, leaning back. “Aaj breakfast table pe kya hoga.”
She frowned. “Matlab?”
Shivaay ran a hand through his hair. “No one knows what Dadi is going to tell” He trailed off, and Om picked it up.
“Everyone is still processing the truth. I’m not sure how they’re going to react today.”
Rudra nodded. “It’s going to be awkward.”
Anika’s stomach twisted slightly. She didn’t want today to be difficult for anyone, especially Shivaay.
She looked at him. “You’re okay?”
Shivaay held her gaze, and for a second, it felt like they were in their own little world. “I will be. As long as you don’t disappear mid-breakfast.”
"Bhootni hu mai ki gayab ho jau?(Am I a ghost to disappear?)"
"Mere liye to Pari ho meri(You are my angel)" Shivaay whispered in her ears
Anika rolled her eyes but felt warmth spread in her chest.
Om observed them quietly before speaking. “Stop these whispering. I wanted to ask you something Shivaay. Do you regret about them finding out the truth?”
Shivaay shook his head. “No. What I regret is the way they found out.”
Anika nodded. “Then, jo bhi hoga, hum sambhal lenge.(Whatever happens, we will take care of it)”
Shivaay’s lips curled into a small smirk. “Hum?(We?)”
She blinked, realizing what she had just said. “Matlab… aap log sambhal lenge.(I meant you guys)”
Rudra chuckled. “No take-backs, Anika bhabhi.”
Anika shot him a look. “Main tumhari bhabhi nahi hoon.(I am not your sister in law)”
Shivaay smirked but said nothing. Rudra, however, leaned forward with a teasing grin. “Par hone waali toh ho na?(But you will be right?)”
Anika frowned. “Kya?”
Rudra turned to Shivaay. “Bhaiya, sach sach batao. I already think I am right but I wanna hear from you. You like Anika didi?”
Shivaay, without hesitation, nodded. “Haan.”
