Chapter 31

3rd Person POV
As everyone headed out of the castle, a voice called out to them.

"Everyone! Wait!" It said. They turned and saw one of Lady Lima's assistant running to them.

"Lady Lima has asked that you also
take this along with you," the assistant said. He then walked up to Mario and gave him a pink colored badge.

"That thing is a badge. If you use it,
you'll be a little stronger in battle.
Different badges have different effects, so... For now, if you get a badge, make sure you put it on!" The assistant said.

"Now you're all set! Be careful!" He said before returning to the castle.

"Hey! Can I have one, too?" Luigi asked.

"Oh, uh... Sorry, Luigi, but if you want your own badge, you'll have to go buy one at the store," the assistant told Luigi. Luigi held his head down, disheartened.

"Don't worry, bro. We'll buy you one, too," Mario said, comforting his brother.

*timeskip*

After they were done buying badges, (Y/N) and co. continued their way to Chucklehuck Woods. As they headed southwest of the castle, they noticed two butler-like guards standing at the path to Chucklehuck Woods. The guards noticed them and stood in their path.

"Halt! Travel here is permitted only for select individuals in order to guard the Chucklechuck Woods ecology. If you have no business here, then please leave immediately," the guard on the left said.

"Psst. Mario. The brooch," (Y/N) said. Mario pulled out the Beanbean Brooch from his pocket and showed it to the guards.

"OH! The Beanbean Brooch! The mark of special guests of Beanbean Castle!" The guard on the left said.

"... Very well, then! We shall permit you to enter these woods!" The guard on the right said. Both guards then stood back, and the gate lowered.

"We hope you will enjoy a taste of the incredibly full-flavored Chuckola Cola while you are here," the right guard said. The group then headed inside the Chateau de Chucklehuck.

As they headed inside, they noticed that the place seemed quite fancy. Its hall was filled to the brim with instructions on how Chuckola Cola was made.

The next room, however, was filled with barrels of Chuckola Cola and pretty dim. Everyone began to stick together while navigating the place, hoping they won't get lost. Suddenly, a shadowy figure appeared behind Luigi and knocked him out, causing him to fall behind the others.

Back to the others, Pikachu noticed Luigi wasn't with them.

"Pika-pi? Pika??" He said.

"What is it, buddy?" Ash asked the yellow mouse.

"Wait a second. Where's Luigi?" (Y/N) asked. Then, Mario noticed a Beanish figure dressed up like a bandit in front of him.

"Who's that?" Goh asked.

"I have no idea," Mario said. Then, a familiar voice called out from somewhere.

"Mario!" It said. It was Luigi's voice. Luigi then waved at his brother from the exit

"Luigi! What happened?" Mario asked.

"I don't know. I suddenly got ambushed, and I got lost. I don't know who, though," Luigi said.

"Hmm... I bet that bandit from earlier did it. He looked pretty suspicious," Eve said. They all started to catch up with the bandit until they finally reached him. He was seen sulking in a corner.

"Ooooh! Boo! Blast! Criminy!" the shady figure grumbled, "The famous shadow thief, Popple, has been caught in full sight!" He said.

"Hey! Pickpocket!" (Y/N) called out. Popple then noticed (Y/N) and co., making him jump.
