Zane had told himself for years not to get close to anyone, especially a woman, due to his choice of job. However, when he met Yani, he can't deny their connection, and will embark on a new journey with her, that neither of them expected.
As I was walking towards the end of the women's shoes, I couldn't help but to feel a pair of eyes on my backside. I bit my bottom lip because I am sure it's the fine ass man that I caught staring at me just minutes ago. I stop when I see a pair of Nike's that catches my eye. I pick them up and I examine them. I look out of the corner of my eye and I see the man doing the same with a pair of shoes. I couldn't help but to notice the little girl with him. She's absolutely beautiful. I look over in her direction and she looks at me. I wink and wave and she smiles and waves at me. Aww she's sweet. I set down the pair of shoes in my hand and I pick up another pair. I then feel a small presence approaching me. I look down and I see the little girl smiling up at me.
"I really like your hair," the little girl said sweetly.
"Oh thank you beautiful I like yours too it's really pretty," I complimented.
"Thank you my daddy did it," the little girl said. The man then comes up behind the little girl and puts his hand on her shoulders.
"Nia what have I told you about talking to strangers? I'm sorry I hope she isn't bothering you," the man said in his heavy Texan accent. That accent gave me chills in every inch of my body.
"No she's really precious she's not bothering me at all," I responded.
"Daddy I was just telling her that her hair is pretty that's all," Nia said.
"You have a beautiful daughter.....my name's Yani," I said politely.
"My name's Nia and this is my daddy Zane," Nia said sweetly. I laugh a bit; she's so damn cute.
"It's nice to meet the both of you," I said. I look at Zane and he looks away. My eyes travel down his neck and his arms that are full of tattoos. He has some very unique work.
"You have some really unique tattoos," I noticed.
"Uh thanks......so do you," Zane said while eyeing my right arm.
"Thanks.....I actually own a tattoo shop. If you or anyone you know is interested in any work, let me know." I pull out my card from my purse and I hold it out. He looks at me and then takes the card.
"Thanks," Zane said quickly.
"You're welcome," I said while smiling.
"We should get going. Nia say bye," Zane said.
"Bye Yani," Nia said while smiling and waving.
"Bye pretty girl," I said. Nia giggles and Zane takes her hand and they walk off.
"Daddy she was pretty," I hear Nia whisper to Zane. I smile to myself as Zane's cheeks turn red and as he scurries out of the store with his daughter right by his side. That man is fine as hell. I would love to do some tattoo art on him. He seemed a bit standoffish but maybe he will call and set up an appointment if he is interested. I moved to Houston from Dallas just a little over a year ago to open up my tattoo shop. I have a great clientele list, but I am always looking to expand. I am very successful at my age of 25 and I love being in business for myself. Anyway, I pick out a few pair of shoes that I like, try them on and then I buy them. I leave the store with my bags and I stop by a few more stores before I head to the food court. I order from Chick-Fil-A and then I pay. Once my order is ready, I sit down at a free table and I start eating. The mall is packed today! It usually is on Saturdays. I take out my phone and I scroll through my Instagram and Twitter feeds while I eat. Once I am done eating, I head home for a brief minute just to drop off my shopping bags. I refresh my natural makeup as well. I look at my in the mirror at my reflection and I smile a bit. I fluff out my hair a bit and then I head back out to my tattoo shop. Once I get there, I unlock the door and I turn on all the lights. I go to the back tattoo room and I set up everything. Right on time at 2 p.m. I hear the front door open and close. I walk out and I see him.

I smile and he smiles back.
"Hey Jason," I said.
"Hey beautiful," Jason said smoothly. I roll my eyes playfully and I walk over to him and I hug him tightly. This man is so flirtatious. Don't get me wrong he is fine as hell, but he is a local model, which means he has hoes all over him. I could never be with someone that practically every woman throws themselves at, no matter how fine he is.
"I'm all ready for you let's go to the back," I said.
"Alright let's go," Jason said. Jason follows me to the back room and he takes off his tank top revealing his tatted and chiseled torso and chest. I don't mind one bit tattooing fine ass men. I prep the area he wants tattooed and then I draw the stencil on his chest. I then start to tattoo him. He is one of my regular customers and he has a very high threshold of pain. He barely even winces. We talk as I tattoo him. He is pretty easy to talk to. He's actually really sweet too. I already explained why I would never pursue anything other than a friendship with him though. Once his tattoo is complete, I clean the area and I cover it with a large bandage.
"You're all set Jason," I said.
"Thanks gorgeous," Jason said while sitting up. He looks in the mirror and he loves it. He puts on his shirt and stands up from the table and I stand up as well. We walk out to the cash register and he pays me the money for his tattoo that includes a large tip.
"Jason you know how I feel about these large tips," I said.
"You deserve it don't worry about it," Jason said.
"Well thank you I appreciate it. You know I got you whenever you need any new work."
"I appreciate that," Jason said while licking his lips. I roll my eyes and he laughs softly.
"You're never going to give me a chance huh?," Jason asked.
"Unless you quit your job as a model, no," I said while smirking. Jason chuckles loudly while nodding his head.
"Alright Yani you got me. At least I tried, but I can take the hint. I'm still going to call you beautiful though," Jason said while winking. I just laugh and I hug him tight and then he kisses my cheek and I kiss his.
"I'll see you later Jason," I said.
"Bye beautiful," Jason said. He leaves the shop and I shake my head while laughing. That man is something else. I tattoo two more clients and then I head home. I think I am going to stay in for the rest of the day and watch movies. Once I get home, I head into my bedroom and I change into an oversized t-shirt and basketball shorts. I turn on my large flat screen television and then I search for a movie to buy on demand. As I am doing so, my phone lights up and I see a number I don't recognize. I touch the accept button and then I put my phone to my ear.
"Hello?," I said.
"What's up Yani?," a familiar male voice said. I roll my eyes heavily. It's my ex-boyfriend Brandon.
"Brandon I told you to stop calling me," I said slightly rudely.
"Why you being like that? I'm trying to be better for you but you keep pushing me away."
"Brandon that's because I don't want anything to do with you."
"What did I do that was so bad?"
"Where do I begin? You cheated on me countless times, you hit me more than once and you stole three of my credit cards leaving me to pay the $5,000 balance that you spent on who knows what."
"And I apologized for all of that Yani why can't you forgive me?"
"Oh I forgave you, but I don't want to be with you Brandon......how's what's her name? Brittany? Did she have the baby yet?"
"We don't even know if that baby's mine."
"Whatever Brandon you were fucking her enough so you know there's a possibility. Stop calling me. I really just want you out of my life so I can move on."
"Well I'm not letting you go so easily Yani. Remember that." He hangs up and I hang up as I sigh heavily. He doesn't know when to quit. He did me wrong and yet he still doesn't understand why I don't want to be with him anymore. A part of me misses him but that's only because I may be slightly lonely. I'm a hopeless romantic to be honest. I love being in a relationship with someone I care about. I know how good love can be, but I can be patient until it finds me again.
