Zane

I wake up the next morning to the sun beating on my face. I yawn a bit as I slowly open my eyes. I look down and I can't help but smile when I see Yani sleeping on my chest. My smile grows even wider when I think about the good news she told me. She's pregnant! I am so damn excited; I can't even put it in words. I use my left hand to gently rub across her stomach. Our baby is growing inside of her. I can't believe it. I cannot wait until this baby is born. I move some of Yani's hair out of her face and I kiss her forehead multiple times. I missed her and Nia so much and I am so happy that it's safe enough for me to be back home with them. Yani squirms around a bit and tilts her head up towards mine. She opens her eyes slowly and a soft smile forms across her lips.

"Morning beautiful," I said.

"Hi baby," Yani said. I peck her lips and then I kiss her nose.

"How you feel?," I asked.

"Ok baby."

"Have you been having morning sickness?"

"Yeah I have." I frown a bit and I kiss her lips again.

"I'm sorry I haven't been here to take care of you," I said sympathetically.

"It's ok baby.....but why were you gone so long? You had me worried sick and Nia too. I thought you would at least text me or call, but you didn't."

"Baby I wanted to believe that. But I couldn't. As hard as it was, I had to cut ties from everyone for a while just to be sure that all of us were safe. I absolutely hated being away from you and Nia though. That was the hardest thing I ever had to do, but I did for you the both of you at the same time."

"Baby I love you so much. Don't ever leave me like that again though," Yani warned.

"I can promise you that," I said while laughing a bit. I kiss her forehead and I turn on the television to the local news station. Yani snuggles close to me as we watch the news. There is breaking news that limbs that were found on the outskirts of the city have been identified. My heart stops when they show Robyn's picture and Yani gasps in shock. She instantly sits up as they mention that Robyn's body was cut into multiple parts, but her head is yet to be found.

"Oh my god," Yani said while resting a hand on her chest. She then looks at me and furrows her eyebrows.

"Zane......you didn't....did you?," Yani asked in shock. I just look at her in shock. Is she serious?

"What.....Yani...you think I could kill someone?," I asked.

"Zane you were gone for two months with no word I don't know what to believe. I think you need to tell me exactly what happened. Where you were for that long, everything. I have a right to know," Yani said.

"Yani....I can't. To protect you and our family, I can't."

"Oh so we're back to the secretive shit now?," I can tell Yani is getting aggravated.

"Baby calm down," I said while rubbing her arm. She pulls her arms away from me and gets out of the bed. I sigh as I sit up in the bed.

"Zane please don't keep anything away from me right now. I'm already as emotional as hell and I don't need this....please just be honest with me," Yani pleaded.

"Yani....I did not kill Robyn. You know I would never kill anyone, no matter what. After you left the tattoo shop that day.....I took Robyn to her boss. I wanted to know who put the hit on you and everything. It was Brandon, your ex and he worked with Robyn to plan that shit. It was a set up. Once her boss found that shit out, he told me to leave so I did. She was alive when I left, so whatever happened to her, wasn't anything I did," I said honestly. Yani looks at me and her eyes soften. She sighs and sits on the bed. I grab her waist and I pull her into my lap. I grip her face in my hands and I stare at her and she looks at me.

"...I'm sorry baby I should have known better than to even question you....it was just so hard without you. I was going crazy not hearing from you," Yani said as tears filled her eyes.

"Don't cry beautiful," I said. I rub her eyes before the tears even get a chance to fall.

"Let me make you feel better baby," I said softly. I lean in and I plant soft kisses on her neck. She rests her head on my left shoulder as she moans softly. I lick down her neck and I start to lift her shirt up, until there is a knock on the door. I chuckle a bit as Yani does the same. Yani gets out of my lap and sits next to me on the bed.

"Come in," I called out. The door opens and I see my beautiful little girl. She smiles and runs into the room. She hops on the bed and right into my lap. I laugh as I kiss her all over her face.

"Hi beautiful!," I exclaimed.

"Morning daddy," Nia said while giggling. She kisses Zane's cheek multiple times and then hugs me tightly. Nia then looks at me and smiles.

"Good morning mommy," Nia said.

"Morning gorgeous," Yani said. Yani puckers her lips and Nia pecks Yani's lips and then hugs Yani tightly. Nia then rubs Yani's stomach while smiling widely.

"Hi baby! This is your sister Nia. I can't wait to meet you, I'm so excited!," Nia said genuinely.

"You're so sweet baby," Yani said.

"You're excited to meet your little brother huh?," I said. Yani looks at me strangely.

"Um you do not know it's a boy," Yani said.

"Actually I do. It's a boy. We're going to have a mini me," I said while grinning. I rub Yani's stomach along with Nia and Yani smiles.

"I'm so happy you both are excited for this baby that means a lot to me," Yani said.

"Why wouldn't we be? We're family," Nia said sweetly.

"That's right baby. We are a family," I said. Yani smiles and nods her head and I peck her lips. We are a family and I did what I could to protect MY family. Now that the worst is behind us, the best is yet to come.
