Thirty Five

It's been three months and one week. My due date was five days ago and yet I am still pregnant. I am aggravated as hell because I just want to see my baby! I want to hold my baby in my arms. He is going to be the most gorgeous thing I already know. I'm sure he is going to look just like Zane. Right now I am at the tattoo shop. Zane hates the fact that I am working so far into my pregnancy but I just couldn't see myself sitting. Zane is so sweet though and he always wants to cater to me and I love that about him. I just finished up my last client and I am cleaning up. Zane is on his way to pick me up and then we are going to pick up Nia from school. As I am cleaning, I feel a sharp pain in my stomach. This isn't the first one today. I really hope my son is coming soon! Right on time, Zane comes strolling through the front door of my shop and he smiles widely when he sees me.

"Hi beautiful," Zane said.

"Hi baby," I said while smiling. Zane walks over to me and wraps his arms around me and laughs a bit.

"Your stomach is huge I can't even get close to you," Zane joked.

"Shut up and kiss me," I said while pouting. Zane laughs and he leans in and pecks my lips multiple times. He then leans down to my stomach and lifts up my shirt and kisses my stomach repeatedly.

"Lil' man when are you going to come and see mommy and daddy and your sister Nia? Huh? We're waiting for you," Zane said sweetly.

"Seriously our son better make an appearance soon or I am coming in after him," I said while laughing a bit.

"Oh baby I got the pregnancy pictures we took with Nia. They're perfect too baby I have them in the car," Zane said.

"Oh I can't wait to see them!," I said excitedly. Zane smiles and kisses my forehead. I gather my things and I stop in my track as I feel another pain. I grab my stomach and Zane moves closer to me.

"You ok baby?," Zane asked.

"Yeah....I think ZJ might me coming soon," I said while smiling softly. Zane's eyes widen in shock and then the widest smile forms across his face.

"I hope so I can't wait to see my mini me," Zane said. Zane gathers my things for me and we leave. Zane opens the passenger side door for me and I get in and he kisses my forehead before closing the door. He puts my things in the backseat and then gets in on the driver's side. He starts up the car and we head to Nia's school. I do feel a few other sharp pains in my lower abdomen as we are driving. Then...all of a sudden, I feel a rush of liquid flow from between my legs. I look down in shock and then I look at Zane.

"Zane! My water broke!!," I yelled. Zane looks at me and damn near swerved the car off the road!

"Sorry babe! Ok.....ok! Uh we'll get Nia and then go to the hospital. I started keeping overnight bags for all of us in the car in case this would happen. Oh my god....our son is coming!!," Zane said in a rant. I laugh a bit as I nod my head. Zane speeds to Nia's school. He parks out front and when Nia sees us, she runs to the car. She gets in and closes the door behind her.

"Hi mommy hi daddy," Nia said.

"Hi gorgeous," Zane said. I turn around in the seat and I help Nia get strapped in.

"Baby girl we are going to the hospital. Looks like ZJ is coming," I said. Nia's little eyes light up and she claps her hands.

"Oh yay my baby brother is coming!!! ZJ is coming!! I can't wait to see him!!," Nia said excitedly. Zane pulls off and pulls up to the hospital in record time. He parks in front of the emergency room.

"Baby girl you go in with mommy. I am going to park then I will be inside ok?," Zane said.

"Ok daddy," Nia said. Zane puts the car in park and gets out of the car and rushes to my side of the car. He opens the door for me and helps me out of the car and kisses my forehead repeatedly. Nia grabs my hand and walks me into the hospital. She tells the nurse at the receptionist desk that my water broke and they lead us to the maternity ward and to our own room. I change into the hospital robe and I lie down in the bed. Nia climbs in the bed and rubs my stomach.

"I can't wait to see you ZJ. You're probably going to look like daddy huh?," Nia said cutely. I laugh a bit as I rub my stomach along with Nia. I can't believe that within hours I am going to give birth to my first child; my son. I am so happy. The miscarriage was so hard for me to deal with. It was definitely one of the hardest things for me to deal with in my life. I was hurt, but my son is going to be a blessing and I understand that. The timing is right now and I truly believe that.

10 Hours Later

I am screaming at the top of my lungs as I expel my baby boy from my body. Kiara is holding my left hand and Nia is holding my right hand. Kiara's boyfriend Adrian is standing next to Kiara and Zane is standing next to the doctor dressed in scrubs. The next thing I know, the room fills with the most beautiful cries I have ever heard. I collapse into the bed as tears instantly fill my eyes. I try to catch my breath and my eyes connect with Zane's. I see tears fill his eyes and they run down his cheeks as the doctor holds our son. The nurses clean him and then Zane cuts the umbilical cord.

"Mommy, daddy he's beautiful. Oh my gosh," Nia said softly. Nia puts her hand over her mouth and tears fill her eyes. Tears pour out of my eyes as I watch the nurse weigh and measure my son. My son. I can't believe that!

"You did it boo I'm so proud of you," Kiara said. She kisses my forehead and Zane walks over to me leans down and hugs me and we both just burst out into tears.

"I love you so much Zane," I cried.

"I love you more Yani," Zane whispered back.

"Ok here he is," the nurse said. Zane and I pull out of the embrace and the nurse hands ZJ to me. Oh my gosh he is perfect. Zane sits next to me on the bed and Nia crawls into his lap as I cradle ZJ carefully in my arms.

"Hi Zane Jr. Hi baby. It's me your mommy," I said in tears. ZJ is so beautiful!!!!

"Oh my gosh Zane he looks just like you," I said while laughing a bit. ZJ squirms a bit and yawns and opens his eyes and looks at me as I look at him.

"I am in love with you already ZJ," I said. I lean down and I kiss his cheek multiple times. I admire his features. He is the perfect mixture of me and Zane's complexions, but has Zane's shaped eyes, lips, nose, and ears, just everything. ZJ is definitely going to be Zane's mini me.

"Hold your son baby," I said. Zane nods his head and holds out his arms and I carefully hand ZJ to him. ZJ yawns again and looks up at his daddy. Zane leans down and kisses ZJ all over his face.

"Hey lil' man it's me, your daddy. I love you so much. You're a blessing baby," Zane said sweetly. Zane kisses ZJ's forehead and then rubs ZJ's right hand. Zane kisses ZJ's right hand and then looks at me and smiles.

"This is our son baby and he's perfect," Zane said. Nia kisses ZJ's forehead and rubs his hand softly.

"Hi ZJ, I'm Nia your sister! I'm so happy you're here. I knew you'd be a cutie pie too," Nia said. I smile and I lean in and I kiss Nia's cheek. We all just admire ZJ, the new addition to our family. I can't remember a time when I have been happier.
