Chapter 1105 - Idol Businessman

"En." Lisa nodded, confirming his identity. "You are Jasper Leung and you're applying for the position of Communications Coordinator in my son's company?"

The eyes of the starstruck Jasper Leung almost bulged out of their sockets. "S-son?! Mr Kitty M is your son?!! H-huh, what?!!!" Then he froze, inhaling sharply upon realizing something. "Kitty M...Lisa Manoban...both of you are Manobans...ah!!!"

"En, he's my son."

"Yep yep! The cute and mighty Kitty Manoban is my daddy's precious kitty baby son! Hihihi. Right, Daddy? Meow~"

"You're right." Lisa showed a doting expression.

Jasper was still in a state of shock. There was never any confirmed news about CEO Manoban fathering a child before. By the sound of Kitty's voice, he must already be a big child. CEO Manoban only married very recently. Did he father a secret, illegitimate child and made his young wife a step-mother?

As if knowing what he was thinking, Lisa told him in a serious tone, "Kitty is my son with my wife."

Jasper was already nodding his head before his idol's words registered in his brain. But when he realized what Lisa said, he paled.

If it was really true that Kitty Manoban—who was already a big child based on his voice—was both Lisa and his wife's child, then did that mean that the CEO impregnated his wife when she was still underage? Jasper knew that CEO Manoban's wife is only in her early twenties. If this was the case, then wouldn't that make his idol businessman a beast?!

Oh no!

His increasingly wild thoughts were interrupted when Lisa spoke again. "My son's identity is...special. My wife and I want to protect him, that's why we don't announce his existence to the public. It's enough that we support him in running his own company. You're the first one who aren't close to my family that knows about my son. I trust that you'll keep it a secret. You will, won't you?"

Jasper gulped and nodded. "Y-yes, of course! You can trust in my moral integrity, CEO! I'm not the type of person to blab about another's secret without the owner's consent. I work in the Public Relations field—er, I want to work in the PR field and I have the educational qualifications for it, so I know the importance of knowing when to be tactful and when it's okay to reveal the truth."

Lisa nodded, satisfied. "Good."

"If you like, I can sign an NDA to give you some peace of mind. I don't mind it at all."

"Hmmm. We'll talk about that later. First things first, let's start the job interview."

"Ah, yes! Of course, CEO!" Jasper sat straighter and resolved himself to do his very best, even better than how he performed when he applied at the Singaporean branch of Manoban Corporation. He didn't want to embarrass himself in front of his idol.

The interview finally started. Being interviewed by the actual Lisa Manoban himself, President-CEO of the biggest multinational company and one of the most influential billionaire business figures in the world, felt so surreal. Jasper almost couldn't believe that this was really happening to him.

This was what he had been dreaming of ever since he had decided to pursue a career in business, specifically in the Public Relations field—to meet and speak with CEO Manoban, and of course, to work in his company. His hopes and big dreams of ever working at Manoban Corporation again had been cruelly dashed when Romeo Young fired and blacklisted him. Now, however, Jasper believed that the incident was a blessing in disguise.

Romeo Young was only a branch boss, anyway. He was nothing but a fake king compared to the true reigning king of the Corporation, Lisa Manoban.

Lisa asked many difficult questions. Jasper answered all of them to the best of his ability. He wasn't sure if his idol was satisfied with his answers. He was unable to gauge any of the CEO's true thoughts from the man's poker face alone.

Kitty would also interject his own questions and opinions here and there, but most of the time, it was his father who interviewed Jasper.

"What do you think?" Lisa asked his son.

Jasper tensed. He rubbed his sweaty palms on his trousers out of the web camera's view.

"Kitty likes Jasper, Daddy! He's a bit boring but that's okay! The cute and mighty me is a good boss to all my employees and will treat them well as long as they do their jobs right. Meow~"

Jasper felt a little relieved that he liked him, though he inwardly winced at being called boring. He knew that he wasn't the most interesting person in the planet but wasn't it too harsh to call him boring to his face?

Well, it didn't matter. As long as CEO Manoban's son liked him, he now had a better chance of getting the job. However, it seemed that the final decision still rested on CEO Manoban himself. Jasper once again felt nervous, even terrified.

This wasn't a job at Manoban Corporation, but oddly enough, he felt more anxious. Lisa's opinion felt more important and meaningful than the one who interviewed him when he first applied at the Corporation's Singaporean branch.

'I want this. I want this so badly! Please let me get this job.'

"How about Daddy? Does Daddy like Jasper, too? Meow~"

Jasper felt like he was going to faint from the nerves. However, he forced himself to hold on, refusing to embarrass himself in front of his idol by passing out like an overexcited fanboy.

Whatever the outcome of this interview, he would accept it. He trusted in CEO Manoban's judgment. If he didn't get hired, then that meant that he was not qualified for the position. Not yet. He would just work harder and smarter to improve his qualifications and try again next time.

Jasper no longer thought that this White Tigress company was a scam. To him, this was the next best thing after Manoban Corporation for his dream career.

Then Lisa said, "My decision is...."

Jasper leaned forward, afraid to miss a single word.

"Hurry up and say it, Daddy! The cute and mighty me can't wait any longer. Meow!"
