Chapter 1149 - More Than Just A Pretty Face

Louis harrumphed in fury that not all of Jasper Leung's friends joined Black Stars Singapore. But he sounded so cute that Jasper almost laughed out loud. Fortunately, he was able to restrain himself from doing so. No matter how friendly Louis was to him, he is still his boss at the end of the day. Not only that. He is also the precious son of his idol businessman, Lisa Manoban. Just that fact alone was enough for Jasper to treat Louis with careful courtesy.

"Hmph! It's the loss of those poopoo-heads if they don't join Black Stars! It's the bestest fan club forever and ever! Those who didn't join will never know how super-duper to the highest level amazing my mommy is and how beautiful and kind and talented and generous and awesome Mommy is just like the cute and mighty me! Meow~"

"Yes, Mr Manoban. You're right." Jasper smiled, not caring in the least that the "poopoo-heads" his boss was dissing were his own friends. The only thought in his mind right now was how cute his boss was. He wished that he could meet him in person. He bet that he would be a handsome child because his parents were both gorgeous.

It was also at times like this that he would be reminded just how young his boss is. Although he didn't know his exact age and felt it inappropriate to ask at this early stage in his career at White Tigress company, he could guess by his voice, his use of immature terms like poopoo-head and all the meowing, and of course, his mother's age.

Madam Manoban or Jennie Kim is only in her early twenties. If she was really his boss' biological mother like what CEO Manoban and his boss claimed, then she must have given birth while she was still a teenager. This made Jasper look at his idol businessman differently and label him a beast but it didn't lessen his respect for CEO Manoban's superb business leadership. Also, the great thing about the situation was that CEO Manoban still married the woman he impregnated when she finally became an adult.

For Jasper, this was important. Even though CEO Manoban was a beast for impregnating a teenager, at least he wasn't a total sleazeball for abandoning the woman who gave birth to his own child and even married her. On top of that, there were reports that CEO Manoban is madly in love with his wife. It is said that he had mellowed a lot after going public with his relationship with Jennie Kim. He wasn't as cold and indifferent as before. In fact, he would even become extremely friendly if someone heaped praises on his wife in front of him.

Back to the present, Jasper listened to his boss chatter. This was another thing that he quickly discovered. His boss loved to talk. Too much sometimes. Besides his official work as the company's Communications Coordinator, he is also basically a kind of babysitter for his boss. Not in the sense that he needed to take care of him. He didn't need that especially since they hadn't even met in person yet.

He was a babysitter in the sense that he would spend time chatting with him, or more specifically, listening to his seemingly endless chatter, and also helping him understand the underlying meaning in the attitudes of some of their company's clients. His boss is straightforward and still immature in so many ways. He is still unable to comprehend that some people would say one thing but mean another. He would always take the literal meaning of the words and work from there, not realizing that some of their clients might not always be willing to spell out everything in exact words.

Another thing was that he had no filter. There were times that he would offend clients because of his straightforward personality. Even CEO Manoban personally asked Jasper to help teach him to become more tactful. Fortunately, his boss is open to learning. In fact, he is an incredibly quick learner that Jasper couldn't help but be amazed. He only needed to be taught something once.

As expected of the child of CEO Manoban! His boss is definitely a child genius!

Part of his job as Communications Coordinator is to become the company's main spokesperson and be the bridge between his boss and their important clients. This is his forte as someone who specialized in the Public Relations field. He had the ability to build a beautiful, shining public image for anyone. His mission was to boost the overall reputation of White Tigress International Virtual Assistant Services and paint his boss as an amazing boss.

At the moment, one of the tasks that he was assigned was to introduce CEO Manoban's wife and his boss' mother, Jennie Kim, to the Singaporean public.

"Boss, please be patient," he assured Louis. "Singaporeans will come to know and love your mother very soon. It's not like she's a completely unfamiliar figure to us. Her song with your uncle, the superstar V, 'Shining Eyes', the theme song for the hit TV drama 'Our Love, Our Destiny' reached number 1 in the music charts here in Singapore last season."

"That's right, catfight! Mommy wrote the song because she's the bestest musician ever in the whole wide world, even better than Uncle V! It's not only in Singapore that 'Shining Eyes' became number 1. It also topped the charts in the Philippines. The localized versions also reached high ranks in the music charts in other countries like Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand! Mommy is super-duper to the highest level awesome! Right, Jaspy? Meow~"

"You're right, boss."

Although Jasper thought that the main reason that the song performed so well outside the country was largely due to the combination of V's superstar halo and the high quality of the TV drama, he still agreed with his boss' claim that it was because of his mother. On second thought, he wouldn't deny that the song was indeed written and composed extremely well.

Jennie is definitely more than just a pretty face. Her talents as a musician, both in composing and performing, were all outstanding as well.
