Grandpa continued laughing, his booming voice echoing throughout the entire stretch of the hallway. Jisoo's face was burning in embarrassment. She wanted to escape and hide but Jiyong held her hand tightly, not allowing her to go anywhere else. Having no choice, she could only continue walking beside him and follow Grandpa. After asking a patrolling security staff, they learned that Hoyeon and Little Jun were inside the toddler's room. They immediately headed there while Grandpa asked the houseboy to help them relay to the kitchen to serve separate dinner for them.
They found the mother and son in Little Jun's room playing with the energetic Leo while the lazy Lily was in the middle of her beauty sleep on the bed.
The striped, orange cat was the first one to notice their arrival and zipped across the room to barrel like a little rocket directly towards his Uncle Jiyong's chest. No, actually, it was the fat, grey cat who noticed the new arrivals first but she was just too lazy to move from her perch on the comfortable bed. She only half-opened her eyes and released a soft meow as acknowledgement of the group's arrival before resuming her precious beauty sleep.
Jiyong caught the hyperactive Leo with just one arm while his other hand continued holding Jisoo. He glanced at the orange cat who immediately started rubbing his entire body on him and meowing loudly to greet him. Unlike Lily who still remained a little wary of him until now, Leo loved him very much. Jisoo also began petting the affectionate cat.
"Ampa! Ampa!" Little Jun climbed down his bed without needing any help from his mother and ran towards his great-grandfather.
"Little Junjun my boy!" Grandpa met him halfway the room and scooped the toddler up and immediately started doting on him.
Little Jun's delighted laughter and Leo's needy meows filled the bedroom, creating a cheerful atmosphere in an instant.
The child peeked from Grandpa's shoulder and greeted the people behind. "Anko Yong! Antee Jithoo!"
All the adults focused on the toddler and the cats. Grandpa scolded Lily for being too lazy and the grey cat very reluctantly got up from her comfortable position on the bed to give proper greetings to her great-grandpa, uncle and aunt. Unlike Leo who demanded rubs from everyone, Lily could only tolerate a rub or two when she was not in the mood like right now.
"You bloody brat! See this old man spank your butt if you continue with that attitude! Hmph!"
In response to the scolding, Lily very decisively pushed her older human cousin from their great-grandpa's lap. Little Jun was quite sensible and in tune with his cat cousins so he moved out of the way without any fuss. The grey cat then took over Grandpa's lap, laying her fat body there before twisting and exposing her fluffy belly. Then she waved her paws and meowed in an adorable manner.
Grandpa immediately laughed and started petting Lily before finally letting her go to return to her beauty sleep. "Such a brat. Bahahaha!"
They all chatted with each other. Well, Grandpa, Jisoo and Hoyeon chatted while Jiyong only sat there listening to them, only grunting now and then to respond when someone talked to him. When the kitchen called the room to inform them that dinner was coming soon, they all moved to a nearby lounge area.
Dinner was served. They enjoyed all the food with some nice conversation and watched Little Jun's antics with his cat cousins.
Later, the group lounged on the large couches while sipping hot tea to aid their digestion.
Jiyong was staring at Jisoo's face with an intense look. She pretended not to notice and continued chatting with the others but her blushing face already gave her away.
Watching them, Grandpa had a mischievous glint in his old, wise eyes. "Jisoo, my girl!"
"Yes, Grandpa?" Jisoo asked.
"Has Jiyong been treating you well? Don't be shy and tell Grandpa. I want to know!"
"Uhm, yes, Grandpa. Jiyong is treating me well. Please don't worry."
The old man harrumphed. "That pinhead already has a bad record with you! You're such a nice girl so he better treat you right! The two of you already broke up before so this old man can't be completely at ease. If it doesn't work out between the two of you again, don't worry, my girl! Grandpa will make sure to introduce you to a nice young man who'll treat you better than this dunderhead!"
"Like hell you'll do that, old man," Jiyong growled and glared at Grandpa while quickly grabbing Jisoo and pressing her against him. "Jisoo is mine!"
Grandpa scowled and yelled, "How dare a dunderhead like you speak like that to your beloved grandpa? Tell me, I want to know!"
"Jiyong, please...." Jisoo was trying to stop Jiyong from continuing to piss off his grandfather but to no avail.
From her vantage point, Hoyeon noticed everything. She saw the mischief in the old man's eyes. It was clear to her that Grandpa was provoking his grandson on purpose to elicit a reaction from Jiyong. And the old man succeeded in his plan. She glanced at the pissed off Jiyong who stood up, pulling Jisoo with him.
"Old man, don't interfere with my relationship with Jisoo. I'll dismember any fucking males who dare to sniff around my woman. She's mine!"
With that, the couple left. As soon as the door closed, Hoyeon looked at Grandpa and saw him grinning from ear to ear.
"Bahahaha!"
The old man couldn't stop laughing. Little Jun thought that he was funny so the child laughed at his laughing great-grandpa.
"That ought to make that dunderhead treasure Jisoo my girl more! Bahahahaha!"
Hoyeon shook her head and sighed. Grandpa was like a naughty child. Then she sighed again, worried that her son might learn bad words from his foul-mouthed Uncle Jiyong. But seeing Grandpa and all the others giving so much love to Little Jun, she stopped worrying. Everything would be fine as long as his son was happy and loved.
