Saphira POV:
There was chaos going on around the Going Mary. Marine ships were firing at us from behind, their aiming sucked. They kept missing us. It wasn't long ago that the little girl named Apis introduced herself to the crew; she also explained to the crew why she was on a rowboat in the middle of the sea. She explained it was during that storm two days ago that she escaped a marine ship. She didn't want to tell us why she was a captive on a marine ship, saying it was personal and didn't want to share with us. That was understandable. She told us of her home land, an island called Gunkan: it means battleship. She explained her island was named that because the silhoutte of the island looks just like a battleship. When Nami checked her map for the island and saw that it wasn't far from our own destination, the crew decided to help the little girl get back home.
The girl announced that the marine's that were chasing us is the same marine's she escaped from. Usopp, Zoro and Luffy were arguing about whether to stop and fight the marines or try to get away. ''A wind is coming...'' The little girl was looking at the seagulls that were occupying the upper deck's railing when she announced this, ''A big one.'' She said right after. Nami looked startled by this and quickly ordered everyone to get the ship ready for the wind. I don't know why Nami trust the girl's judgment or why she believed her, but no one questioned it and quickly did what they were told. We finished our task just in time before the wind started blowing us away from the marine ships. They were obviously not prepared for our sudden escape.
The Going Mary was sailing pretty fast with the wind being so strong. Luffy and Usopp was enjoying the ride, they were even mocking the marines as we sail further and further away from them. It wasn't long that we lost sight of the marines ships completely. Usopp and Luffy were celebrating our successful get-away, while the rest just watched in amusement. Except for Zoro, I noticed. I made my way over to him, I could see his head turning from side to side, looking out to sea. ''What's wrong Zoro?" I asked him when I was close enough, Nami was next to him. When I asked him did she turn her attention to Zoro too. He glanced at me, ''Nah, it's just something weird.'' He said, ''What is?'' It was Nami that asked him this time. ''It seems like the ship...hasn't moved for a long time.'' He finally looked at Nami when he finished. Nami and I looked around as he did a while ago and noticed it too. ''There isn't any wind....'' I commented when I saw the sails were still.
Nami shouted in fright when she realized something, her shouting caught everyone's attention that was partying on the deck. ''We've entered the calm belt!'' She announced after everyone asked what was wrong. ''What's that?'' Everyone was confused as to what that was, even me. I've never heard of it before. ''Calm belt! A region of calm water.'' She was still panicking as she explained, nobody seem to share her worry. Before Nami could snap at them, the ship started shaking, rocking on the disturbed waters. ''What was that?'' I asked, getting worried myself. ''Eh? An earthquake?'' Luffy looked around him curiously, ''Earthquake? On the ocean?'' Sanji asked doubtfully. Nami stopped their bickering and ordered us to quickly start rowing the ship out of the calm belt. She was nervous about something, I could tell. ''Is something the matter Nami?" I asked her, Zoro noticed it too it seems. ''What are you so worked up about?'' He asked her, ''Why do we need to row? This is a sailing ship." He obviously doesn't want to row the ship, the others are siding with him, not wanting to row either. ''Would you listen to me?!" She snapped at them, ''We're in real deep trouble here!'' She shouted, annoyed.
''But, the sea is so quite.'' They were not getting at what she's trying to tell them, she was getting pissed. ''Fine! I'll explain it to you.'' She finally decided when she was getting nowhere with just shouting orders at them. She was getting frustrated as she explained to them what was going on, I already got the gist of it the first time she explained. The ship won't be able to move with the wind or the sea currents, for there wasn't any in the calm belt. The boys were slow to catch on to what she was saying. The ship started rocking violently, ''Something's coming!'' The little girl shouted. There was something rising out of the water, ''They're here!'' Nami announced, clear fear in her voice. Enormous Sea King's emerged from the depts; our ship unluckily got stuck on one of the Sea King's noses. Everyone was in complete shock; even the strongest of our crew are scared. We are in a terrible situation.
