Saphira's Pov
I hate this. I had this problem for years now, ever since I was 8 years old, but it never gets better. I can't get used to this, the constant pain and fatigue is annoying. What's bothering me more is the fact that Nami and Sanji knows my secret now, thanks to the doctor. I was unconscious for most of their conversation but I woke in time to hear the doctor explain about the virus that lays dormant inside of me. I would have told them eventually, it wasn't like I coud hide my slow healing or the other problems that the virus gives me, but I wanted to tell them on my own time. There's nothing I can do about it now.
Nami ran ahead to open the door to the old man and Apis's home, Sanji maneuvers my body slowly through the doorway before quickly heading to the only couch in the small house. Usopp was the first to voice his concerns, "What are you doing?! Shouldn't she be with the doc, why is she here?" Usopp and Luffy stopped their card game to give us their full attention. "I'll explain later, right now, can we get some tea and something light to eat for Saphira." Nami was looking at the old man when she asked, ignoring the rest of the crew as they bicker about my well-being.
After everyone got some tea and snacks, Sanji having to help me with holding my cup steady, Nami started explaining everything the doctor said. "Saphira, I know this is personal so I'll leave the explaining to you about your condition." Nami looked up to me as she was sitting on a cushion by the round coffee table. I cleared my throat when I saw everyone's curious eyes on me, "I'd rather not..." I looked to the the ground, wanting to escape this situation. "I know this is something personal you don't want to share, but after the doc's explanation, we're gonna need an idea on what we are dealing with." Nami gave me a serious look, "This is for us to be able to help you in your times of need. We don't have a doctor so you're gonna have to rely on us".
I sighed, I know this, but it still bothers me. This isn't something I want to share, it can become dangerous if word got out about it. I swallow my nerves before giving everyone a once over to see if I should doubt anyone, but they all are looking at me with kind, curious eyes. I can trust them, right? I clear my throat, "Since... I was 8 years old this virus has attached itself to me and been affecting my life up until now." The room was quiet and it was making me nervous, "I would say I have a anti-body and that I'm just a carrier, but the virus changed my body in a not so positive way." I sweat dropped at the confused looks, "Mind explaining how exactly it changed you?" Usopp looked nervous when asking, as if he's scared I would take offense from his question.
"I know many of you noticed that my skin colour isn't exactly normal, the same goes for my eyes." They all nodded, meaning that they did take notice, "Yeah, but you get weird looking people everywhere, everyone has their own uniqueness to them." Sanji, that was sitting next to me on the couch, explained why no one thought of my appearance as out of the ordinary. "Yeah I know, but I use to have a normal appearance. I didn't always look like this. The virus changed not just my outer appearance but some of my natural functions as well." I lifted my hand to tap my cheek just under my eye. "The virus did some positive changes, if you could call it that. Like my eyes. I could see better then what I use to, I could almost say I could also see better in the dark too, but I don't have complete night vision." I explained.
"Aww that sucks, that would have been so cool." Luffy exclaims and look deflated almost, I chuckle "Yeah, it does suck, huh." The chuckling started to hurt my wounds so I stopped, "That's about all the positive changes the virus did, well that and my hearing, I guess. I don't have super hearing, but I can definitely hear things better then before." I rub at my ears as if that would help me think better, "That's still pretty cool, you can at least say your close to being superhuman." Usopp tried to cheer me up, I give him a soft smile. "Well, that's where all the good stuff stops, the rest isn't so great. The virus basically made my bodies normal functions slower, like my healing."
