Against her will, (Y/N) was dragged forcibly back into the room with the tools and strapped down to the table by that same servant who had released her from her cell. Ferid didn't say anything to the other vampire about letting her escape since, after all, they knew she'd never be able to.

And she knew it too.

But hope kept rekindling insufferably again and again, pooling inside of her cooly, waiting for a chance to spike that adrenaline inside of her to run, to take the chance to have freedom again. However, right then, strapped to that table, those chances were slimming by the second. The blood on her face was already drying from where Ferid's nails had sliced through her flesh, however when tears repeatedly kept falling silently, they stung awfully, small whimpers escaping the longer she was trapped, and the longer she cried.

"Be quiet," the unknown male vampire hissed, irritated at that point by her noises.

"Ah, come now, Ayal," Ferid smiled, picking up a rather compromised looking syringe as he approached where (Y/N) lay, her struggles never ceasing, even as his cold hands gripped her arm and made her shiver. "Aren't her pleasant tunes of grief just melodic to your ears?

With that, he stuck the needle into her vein.

    She winced.

    That was the second time.

"Even something as enjoyable as human suffering becomes weary after so long," Ayal answered, taking the syringe from Ferid so he could then transfer the blood into a small vial.

"Weary?" Ferid mused. "Is that so?"

"Humans are weak, dull creatures," Ayal scoffed as he finished emptying the syringe before wiping it down and placing it back down on the table with the rest of the tools. "They're only useful when it comes time to eat, and only enjoyable to hear when said eating comes around."

    (Y/N) glared hatefully at Ayal.

Finding how humanity was thought of so much less than vampires made her blood boil, knowing exactly what kind of treatment they gave, and knowing exactly how lackinch of care said treatment was. She hated them so much in that moment. Fists curling, she wished to do something, wished to scream and fight and hurt. Yet she couldn't, because as much as she hated to admit it, Ayal was right in a way. Like he said, humans were weak, even the straps holding her to the flimsy wooden table enough to hold her down.

"Looks like our human is finding adjustment hard," Ferid laughed lightly, the sound like the soothing waves crashing against the shore, his deep voice calming however sly it was. "I have a feeling that it will only continue to struggle more the longer we keep it." He enjoyed the thought immeasurably, probably more so than he should have, as he whispered, "Wouldn't that be quite the sight?"

Dread filled (Y/N) at the thought of what Ferid could continue to put her through.

    No.

    I can't do that anymore...

Isolation was enough to make her break down in a hallway when she was so close to freedom, so anything more he'd do then would be impossible to get through. She didn't understand how right she was, for only a few moments later, her screams began to echo throughout the mansion from the experiments Ayal ran on her while Ferid watched.

    And he only smiled.

After what felt like hours, she was tossed back into her cell, currently curled up in a fetal position on the floor to try and lesson her pain.

    Her flesh stung.

    Her body ached.

    Everything hurt.

In that moment, she hated living.

Lines of red decorated her (S/C) skin in perfect cuts, dried blood caking on the edges from where she was whipped. Dry tears also lined her dirt smudged face, her eyes even puffier than usual from everything that had happened in the past hour. Therefore, no matter how she lay, she still writhed in that dreadful pain.

    How could he do that?

How could he even enjoy that?

She took in a shuddering breath, picturing Ferid's smug face in her mind.

The answer is obvious, isn't it?

He's a being devoid of any and all remorse, not caring for anyone but himself—a cruel vampire... no, perhaps monster.

Even if he was human before...

That side of him is long gone.

Curling in on herself till most of her stomach lay on the ground, her body still twisted in a somewhat comfortable way, she thought of her life before everything had come crashing down. She thought of her home, her pets, her family. It didn't sit right with her. The fact the she might never see them again, even if she happened to die again in her new world. Picking at the dirt and grime that had managed to squeeze its way underneath her fingernails, her eyes glazed over in a daze, she eventually fell into a fitful sleep. The next morning, she was awoken to the growling of her stomach.

The smell of something delicious soon filled her senses, making her mouth water.

Scrambling up from her lowered position, she let out a shaky, disbelieving gasp when spotting a plate of steaming food and a cup of water in front of her, dropped by when she had been asleep. How delicious it looked made her want to cry. There were no utensils, so she instead began to eagerly eat with her hands, acting almost like a ravenous wolf by the way she was acting.

She didn't question why such delicious food came to her when nothing but scraps had before. She also didn't question the strange, almost metallic taste to it or to the water as she ate and drank quickly. It never once crossed her mind what was in it.

Or the fact of who served it.

All she could sense was the deep, cavernous ache that had started in her stomach and that she had ignored for the longest time yet could not now with such temptations set in front of her. (Y/N) soon shuddered in delight as she sat back on her heels, licking off the access flavor from her fingers, not caring for the slight taste of dirt.

"My..." Ferid's smooth voice drawled, making her snap her neck up in surprise and scrabble back on all fours when spotting him before her.

Slamming her back into the harsh, cold concrete wall, staring up at the vampire like a deer caught in headlights, she watched as his gaze lowered from her to the empty plate of food and then back, smiling a smile that flashed his sharp teeth. It was a look that made her flesh crawl and her breath hitch—the look of a predator eyeing his prey in amusement.

"I didn't expect you to love the taste of human flesh, but I certainly love surprises," Ferid hummed, watching with delight as confusion and then horror dawned across (Y/N)'s expression.

    His eyes curved.

    Oh...

How fun this human's reactions are.
