"Did you miss me?" Ferid's sugary sweet voice rang out the dank dungeon, (Y/N) glancing up from her sad excuse of a meal to scowl at him, his smirk merely growing wider at the look. "I have to say, I certainly wasn't expecting you to be alive." Letting a finger caress his chin as he bent down, analyzing her it seemed and making her back away, he uttered, "But, in spite of that, I truly am entertained and intrigued by your survival."

"I don't care what you are," she spat, glaring spitefully at him.

"Ah... there's that feisty spirit I missed," Ferid laughed, his eyes curving in delight. "Understandably, I've been restless to see my dear little pet again to play with it more."

    (Y/N)'s eyes only narrowed further.

After a few more minutes of the mostly one-sided conversation, Ferid left her to her devices before exiting the dungeon to where Ayal was waiting for him. Motioning for Ayal to walk with him, Ferid didn't direct his gaze anywhere but in front of him as Ayal fell into step beside him, a type of tense silence engulfing them.

"So..." Ferid started. "...it didn't die? Even after facing Kenlr?"

"I followed your instructions exactly, Lord Ferid," Ayal answered, keeping his gaze lowered to the ground respectfully. "I ran it through all tests that you told me to, and also collected its blood each time. Just yesterday I gave it to Kenlr."

    "And?"

"Well, the truth of the situation is just... unbelievable," he sighed, leading Ferid to the exact room where (Y/N) encountered the practically ravenous vampire known as Kenlr.

What was comical about the situation was that it was the same male vampire whom had captured her and had brought her into Sanguinem. Pushing open the double doors, Ayal right behind him, Ferid's eyes widened when seeing what was inside: Kenlr, dead on the floor, already beginning to disintegrate, his skull smashed in from what looked to be a mantelpiece that lay on the ground nearby, blood staining its golden surface.

"And... that human did this?" He questioned,  kneeling by Kenlr so his back faced Ayal.

    "Yes," Ayal confirmed.

Ferid couldn't stop the maniacal grin that stretched across his face, distracted by the mere thought of (Y/N) being secretly vicious that he didn't seem to realize Ayal was still in the room with him. He also didn't seem to realize how uncomfortable Ayal looked. His mind continuously brought him back to when he had shoved (Y/N) into this very room, how her scream had filled the air before being mixed with terrible screeching and loud thuds. Only when all fell silent did Ayal open the door and flick on the lights, his eyes widening in shock when spotting (Y/N), covered in blood, step out from the shadows.

Her skin was punctured with bite marks, blood was smeared across both her skin and clothing, but it was the stare that she gave Ayal that stuck with him. It was a look so full of despair and loathing that he was physically forced backward half a step. That is, until he stopped himself and merely scoffed at the fear he felt—fear for a mere human. He wanted to laugh at how ridiculous it sounded. Ayal then snapped out of his thoughts when Ferid started laughing—a sound loud and long that spilled from his lips and showcased his pearly white fangs. The amusement that practically dripped from his

"Lord Ferid?" Ayal questioned. "What is making you laugh so joyously like that?"

I expected quite the opposite reaction...

"Honestly..." Ferid sighed as he stood up, running a hand through his long, silver hair. "...that human has only exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to see what else it can do."

Ayal's frown only grew.

Ferid waved away Ayal's seemingly wariness behavior, instead directing him to go back down to the cell and retrieve (Y/N), which he reluctantly did. When seeing (Y/N) again, Ferid merely gave her a suspicious closed-lip smile as he directed both her and Ayal to follow him. While thoroughly irritated by that point, an emotion she was feeling far too often, she did however listen and followed after the two vampires, a cold sweat started building on her neck. It wasn't long before she began to recognize the hallway that they were taking her down, fear once again clawing up her throat.

    No... no, no!

I can't...

I can't do that again!

Stopping, making the two in front of her also stop abruptly, she started backing away, agonizingly slow as images filled her mind: growling, blood, bites, pain, poison, a heavy weight, her arm coming down again and again, more blood. She couldn't take it anymore. Turning around and sprinting down the hall, she didn't look back, unable to notice the way Ferid sighed and Ayal growled, the latter getting ready to chase after her when the former held up his hand to stop him, making his head tilt in obvious confusion.

"Don't," Ferid interrupted with a sick grin, a sign of a predator. "I'll go after it myself."

As Ferid hunted (Y/N) down, the girl currently was passing by rooms and pictures of vampire nobility in a blur, her ragged breaths escaping her as she tried to find a window, something, anything that would let her escape the nightmare that she had found herself in. Feeling hot tears slide down her face once more, she stopped running as she struggled to catch her breath, wondering just where the hell she was going.

Hell...

What if I can't escape?

What then?

I want to go back home... I miss...

Everyone.

She choked upon the hand that wrapped around her throat, her body being swung around so that her back was shoved harshly against the wall. She could feel her lips trembling upon sight of Ferid before her, scrabbling at his hands to try and get him to loosen his grip to no avail. His strength was inhumane compared to her own, which made since considering his status as vampire nobility—he could easily squash her with no remorse if he wanted to, and she wouldn't have been able to do anything.

"That didn't last long at all, did it now?" Ferid laughed softly into her ear, watching with delight as (Y/N) turned her head away in disgust.

"Please..." she cried, the sound like music to his ears. "If you're planning to do what you made your servant put me through... just kill me!"

"Kill you?" He scoffed at the thought, his red eyes seeming to flame with a crazed glint as his other hand trailed up her arm, his lips practically brushing against her ear. "Why would I do that when you're already so much fun?"
