Where is she?
Where is she?
Where is she!?
"Ayal!" Ferid snarled after practically tearing apart his manor to find (Y/N), turning to face Ayal who visibly tensed upon noticing Ferid's seething hot anger that burned violently and fast. "Where is she!? What did you do to her!? How could you have ever allowed got her to escape!?"
"I had a task to complete for you today, Lord Ferid... that I couldn't ignore," Ayal uttered, tightly lacing his hands behind his back. "So, I threw your pet into her cell to ensure that she wouldn't escape. At least, not on her own."
Ferid didn't hesitate to slap Ayal.
Ayal didn't so much as flinch, even as his head snapped to the side from the force.
His eyes twitched.
"What are you suggesting, then, Ayal?" Ferid hissed as he grabbed Ayal by the neck. "Choose your words very carefully."
"What I mean, is that someone helped her escape," Ayal answered with a bitter clip to his tone, something he didn't bother to hide much anymore considering how frantic Ferid seemed in regard to their circumstances. "Both her collar and the cell door were broken through brute force—force only a vampire could have. I'm not sure who it could've been, but the only ones who knew about your pet were the nobles."
Ferid's teeth grit so hard they could've cracked as he shoved Ayal away and stormed past the broken furniture and slashed wallpaper and torn couches, his cloak billowing behind him as he paced his manor. Eventually, he found himself in the dungeon, cradling (Y/N)'s broken chain and trying to understand how she escaped and why. His red eyes narrowed into icy blades at how little of a mess there was, suggesting less than a struggle.
She went willingly.
Gritting his teeth and clenching his fists, Ferid swept back into the room where he left Ayal in, startling him due to how he barged through the door in a violent manner. He looked at the chain in his hands that was now shattered, the one that belonged to (Y/N), the one that marked her as his, and felt his blood boil further.
"I need to find her," Ferid growled.
Ayal snapped his head up in surprise, feeling his eye twitching once again at how easily attached Ferid had become to this one singular human. As usual, he wanted to dissuade Ferid from trying to find (Y/N), but the larger and more logical side of his brain made sure he didn't make such a big move. After all, he knew how Ferid would react if he did.
"Would you like me to send out a search party?" Ayal instead asked, folding his hands behind his back to hide how tense he was.
"No," Ferid shook his head, throwing the collar down and placing a hand on his hip whilst the other ran through his silver hair. "I'll look for her myself. And... you stay here." Flicking his eyes around, he then uttered, "Clean up this mess. I want this place to be spotless when I come back. Is that clear?"
"Yes, Lord Ferid," Ayal replied with a bow.
With that, Ferid swept outside into the dark night, the cool air sweeping over him. Crouching down low, he leapt into the air, running with an incredible speed down the streets and making both vampires and human children alike glance around in puzzlement. The children, of course, held more fear than anything. As Ferid raced up through the underground, he stopped when reaching the exit to the city, the white linoleum and marble pillars practically mocking him with their purity. Moving past them swiftly, he then ran through the once gleaming city of Kyoto that was now reduced to rubble with nature taking back what was once claimed by man. As he did so, he revisited some of his past encounters with (Y/N).
That human would be fun to play with.
This human interests me.
This human is amusing.
I need this human's blood.
I need this human.
I need it.
I need her.
I want her.
He found it comical how easily his mind set changed, more so how just a mere human girl had changed it. Even though his body and eyes were sensing where they were, his mind was elsewhere—back to when he had her in his arms and his lips were on her neck, his tongue filled with her flavor and his fangs red by her blood.
It was intoxicating.
What was once such horrid and filthy blood had turned into a drug for him. But even when it was so disgusting one could barely stand to have one up of it, he drank plenty because there was something about her herself that was so exhilarating. He once found this puzzling, even to him who did the most strangest of things to smother his boredom. He didn't much care anymore, as he wanted to unravel this enigma of a human just because he wanted to. Now, she had escaped even though he promised himself he would never allow that.
He had become so used to (Y/N)'s presence her leaving him was a scathing wound.
It was sick.
It was twisted.
But he couldn't stop himself.
He was never bored with this human.
But even that wasn't enough.
He wanted more.
Ferid finally stopped at the edge of a crumbling building that was the base of a vampire noble who knew of (Y/N)'s existence and had expressed a keen interest in her during one of the meetings held by Krul. Even if this noble didn't have (Y/N), he would go down the entire line until he found the scum who did have her. Then, and only then, would he kill then for daring to take what he prized and favored above all else in this wretched world. It was ironic, if he thought about, but again, he just didn't care.
He would find (Y/N).
Not even death would keep him from her.
