Chapter 13

"So hot." Luffy groaned. "Water."

"Thanks, Zoro. This heat is too much for me." Chopper said, laying on a board with Zoro pulling it.

"Don't blame yourself, it's stifling." He replied. 

"Nami, where have you gone?" Sanji asked with the love clear in his voice. "I even love you when you abandon me in the desert!"

"Is he always like this?" Kairi whispered to Zoro.

"Sadly, yes."

"It's kind of creepy."

"Be careful. He might start flirting like that with you. What's wrong, Luffy?" Zoro asked looking back at Luffy and Kairi turned around. He drank the liquid out of a cactus and Kairi face palmed.

"Tsunami!" He yelled, hallucinating. "A tsunami is coming!"

"What's the matter, Luffy?" Zoro asked.

"Maybe it wasn't really such a good idea." Usopp muttered.

"What wasn't a good idea?" Chopper asked.

"I warned him, but he didn't listen. He said he was so thirsty he couldn't stand it anymore, so he chopped down on some of that cactus back there to suck out some of the moisture."

"Cactus?" Zoro asked.

"Yup. Right there. Those green things." He pointed at them. Chopper screamed.

"You've gotta be kidding! That cactus is used to make hallucinogenic drugs!" 

"What?!" Luffy screamed.

"Look out! We're gonna drown! Bring it on if you got the guts!" He started swinging the board around and Kairi turned into air and appeared behind him. She imbued her hand with Haki and hit him in the back of the neck, knocking him out.

"Okay, let's continue." She said letting the Haki leave her hand as they all stared at her in shock that she was able to knock out a rubber man by hitting him. Zoro started dragging Luffy and Kairi realized it was a bit too quiet. "Hey, where's Ace?"

"Come to think of it, I haven't seen him in a while." Zoro said and Kairi groaned.

"Aw, great! When did he disappear?" Usopp groaned.

"He probably wasn't paying attention to where he was going." Kairi replied with a sigh.

"I bet you he got separated from us." Luffy said finally waking up and Sanji, Zoro, and Usopp stopped and turned to Luffy. "Sorry, my big brother's kind of a flake." Kairi gaped at him and face palmed as the three started kicking Luffy and yelling at him.

"Chopper, you want me to carry you? You seem to be really hot with that fur." Kairi offered.

"Really?!" He asked happily and she nodded as he turned back into his small form. She picked him up and a cool breeze coming from Kairi hit him and he sighed in relief. Usopp stopped and looked around.

"What is it, Usopp?" Sanji asked.

"Did you guys hear something?"

"Hm?"

"Oh, you mean the thing headed our way? Yea, I heard that a while back. Thanks to my Devil Fruit powers, I can hear stuff from across the desert." Kairi informed. Usopp ran up a hill of sand. Sanji, Zoro, and Kairi followed up after him with Chopper in Kairi's arms. A ship passed before them.

"A pirate ship?!" They all asked in unison, shocked.

"Hey guys. Bad news, Nami and Vivi have been captured. Whoa, and the camel too!" Usopp informed.
