"You know, your parents will find out that you're not the It Girl of the school year," Eunjin scoffed and gave Yuju an arrogant look. Garam hesitated:
"Let us rest. Just because you won't get expensive gifts anymore, because I don't invite you doesn't mean that you can interfere in my life".
Eunjin threw her hair back annoyingly and went back to her seat. Yuju laid her head on the table and closed her eyes smiling.
The last days she had spent a lot of time with Garam. It was always Yuju's dream to have a girlfriend with whom she can talk about the usual girl stuff. With her sister, however, it is impossible.
"I totally forgot! I'll be right back, I have to hand in a homework. Please tell Mr Lim that I'll be there when he gets here early," Garam rushed. She took her homework and almost walked out of the classroom before she came across Heeseung.
"Look out, Garam," he muttered and picked up the leaves that had fallen down from Garam, and handed them to her.
"Thank you, Heeseung," Garam muttered with a smile and walked out.
The feeling of a few days ago grabbed Yuju again. She looked nervously at her fingers and tried to suppress the thought that something was going on between Garam and Heeseung.
"When will you two finally be together?" asked Dohun as Garam was out of the classroom and Heeseung sat in his seat. Heeseung gave Dohun a carefree look and took out his phone.
There must be something going on between Heeseung and Garam, they must know each other or he wouldn't be so nice to her. He calls her by her name but Yuju he has baptized with invisible girl, and he does not show that she is a friend. Although it's to avoid dating rumors, why doesn't he do the same with Garam?
Suddenly, Yuju became sad; she didn't know where the feeling was coming from. On the one hand she liked Heeseung, even though they didn't necessarily do the best things together, but she didn't want to get in the way of him and Garam.
"Here I am!" Garam said out of breath and sat down in her place, which was right in front of Yujus. Yuju gave her a smile, even if she was not to smile now.
"Yu, is something? You don't look very happy," Garam asked, Yuju shaking her head. At that moment the teacher came and everyone sat down in their seats.
Mr Lim greeted the class and prepared his materials. He quickly went through the list, which he always prepared the night before, where things were that he could not forget to tell the class.
"Before I forget, we're getting a new student. He will go with you to a class, so take him well and don't be mean!" he warned the class.
The door of the classroom opened and a big boy of her age came in, he was definitely not from that school. He had dark brown hair, was broad built and his face resembled that of a typical Korean secondlead character. The teacher looked at him and nodded to him as he stood in front of the class.
Except Yuju.
"Hello, I'm Yang Yedam and I'm waiting for Yuju?" the boy said, all the attention was on Yuju, which rarely happened. She sat as if in a cave; her gaze was on Yedam, who still stared at her with shock.
"Do you know each other?" asked Mr Lim, and Yedam came to her senses and nodded in confirmation.
"Then it's good, sit next to her, the place is free. So dear class, that's your new classmate," said Mr Lim laughing. As he sat down in the seat next to her, she slid a few inches to the left, and Yedam looked deeply into her eyes. He wanted to say something, but the words were missing.
"Guys, I think we have a new couple!" said one of the girls. Stunned, Yuju looked at her table; that he would still appear in her life she would not have thought.
------------------
"Yuju, wait for me!".
The called one turned and saw the one she never intended to see before her, rolling her eyes hesitantly. Garam, who was slurping her arm, whispered in Yuju's ear:
"Is this the guy you told me about?".
"Yes, that may be me," he suddenly replied for Yuju, who reluctantly told Garam she would speak to Yedam. Before Garam left her, she gave Yedam a warning look and went to wake up. They were standing in the hall of their class, and just passed a youth group.
"They already look good together, don't they?" shouted one of them, so the whole staff heard it.
"This is not a good place to talk," she murmured, hoping that Yedam would not follow her but he did.
They went out to the schoolyard, to a corner where no one would see them. Yuju hoped that he would tell her whatever he wanted to say quickly and then let her rest.
They stood opposite each other, and Yuju glanced at him briefly; it was clear that he looked good. After all, he was the most popular boy in his school and he cleared his throat:
"Listen, Yuju, I know that I came here out of nowhere, and I missed you, as a friend. I'm sorry that-"
"That you left me when you found out I had a sick heart? For that? And that you'd have a new one?" , she interrupted him; Yedam looked sadly to the ground and again at her.
"I'm sorry, I know I hurt you, we haven't seen each other in so long. Since we're in the same class now, can we just get along? You have taken a great place in my heart, even as just a friend. I like you very much and would love to be friends with you again," he asked.
Thoughtfully, Yuju looked at him; he had changed and matured not only from his face but also from his psyche. She can still remember well the day when they were on a "date" but he had told her to break up.
But she would lie if she said she didn't miss him; she had missed his radiant, autumnal smile. Or how they would go out to eat ice cream together every day.
"Ok, I forgive you; I don't want to live with a bad conscience, but don't think that I have forgiven you 100%," she said.
Yedam gave her a smile and mused her; Yuju let it pass over her as she had missed his moping too. He was one of the most important people in her life and according to the morals of the Yuju lives, she must forgive him.
"You have to tell me everything that happened this year," said Yedam as they left the primal wave, nodding and-
"Kirai Yuju!" she suddenly heard someone calling, and turned to see Lee Heeseung. He was standing a few feet away with his arms folded, looking at Yuju with that look that could just kill.
"Who is this idiot and why is he yelling at you like that?" muttered Yedam, checking out Heeseung, Yuju took a deep breath:
"My bully," she murmured hesitantly.
"Your what-"
"Fun," she made sure, that she would see Heeseung now, she wouldn't have thought. After all, he tries to avoid them when others are around.
He looked at Yuju seriously, with no emotion on his face; a cold shiver ran down Yuju's back and she had to swallow. Heeseung came to her, but suddenly Yedam stood before her.
"Don't let her," he said, and Yuju looked past Yedam's body to see Heeseung, who pierced her completely with his gaze.
Heeseung shoved Yedam with his shoulder and stood in front of Yuju, her feet looking nervously.
"Who is this?" he asked angrily, pointing to Yedam, raising an eyebrow and looking up.
"And who are you to be so mean to her?" he asked hissingly, Heeseung turned directly to Yedam and looked him in the eye.
"Someone better than you," grumbled Heeseung, and came dangerously close to Yedam. Yuju had to come up with something, so what if it ends in a fight?
But before she could think of anything, Heeseung grabbed Yedam by the collar. Quickly Yuju stood between the two and held Yedam in her shelter, gazing at Heeseung in silence, who stared at her with astonishment.
"How can you, after all I've done for you?" he said with a throbbing voice. Yuju swallowed and did not move, Heeseung laughed briefly and gave Yuju a nasty look before he left.
