"Yuju, you have to eat!" said Garam, trying to push the spoon with oatmeal porridge into Yuju's mouth, but Yuju turned her head away.

She was emaciated from head to toe. In the last 4 months she had lost an immense amount of weight; sometimes she wouldn't eat for 3 days straight and, if anything, would only drink water.

"Please eat, do you want to die?" asked Riki, earning a kick on the foot from Sunghoon. Dying would probably be the best option for Yuju right now.

Every day was like hell for her. It was a huge challenge to get out of bed every day and try not to collapse throughout the day. Her heart hurt more and more each day.

On top of that, Yeona was constantly with Heeseung and didn't let anyone else into the hospital room. She was in there 24/7 and even skipped school. Yuju also wanted to take care of Heeseung. She knew what he liked and what he didn't like.

He himself was still in a coma, and no one could say when he would wake up. It could take many months, or even years, before he woke from his deep sleep.

"Heeseung," Yuju said shakily and lowered her head. She wanted to start crying again; the pain was far too great. He was her everything, her reason to live and to smile. But how was she supposed to do that if he wasn't by her side?

"Oh Yuju," Jungwon hesitated, his eyes filling with tears.

Every day gets worse and worse

"Please, I just want to see him once," Yuju begged, trying to get past Yeona, but she blocked her way.

"No, I'm taking care of him, so don't bother. I'll let you know when he wakes up, so get lost," she hissed and shoved Yuju out of the hospital room.

With tears, she sat on the floor, trying not to have a sobbing fit. She just wanted to see him once. She knew he needed her. She was the only person he had ever opened up to and shown his weak side to.

Day 1

Yuju sat silently on her sofa, staring at the empty wall in front of her. She felt weak and lifeless. All the life in her had disappeared, even though it had only just arrived when Heeseung confessed his love to her.

"Yuju!" Jungwon shouted, getting up from the kitchen chair. Everyone looked at him.

"Heeseung woke up!"

Yuju immediately jumped up. The adrenaline in her surged, and she felt the weakness in her lessen. Her aching heart began to beat as fast again as when she had fallen in love with Heeseung.

As fast as they could, the six of them—Yedam, Sunghoon, Jungwon, Riki, Garam, and Yuju—drove to the hospital.

"It turns out he's actually been awake for a week," Jungwon said as they ran through the hospital corridors.

"But why are we only finding out now?" Riki asked.

Yuju's stomach tightened.

That's right, why were they only hearing about this now?
