Month 1 and day 13

"Yuju, please!" Garam pleaded, tugging at her arm. The girl lay on her bed, having gone days without eating again. Her weight was alarming, now under 35kg. She was small, but her weight was abnormally low.

The day before yesterday, she had another heart attack and had almost lost her life. No one knew how her heart could endure all this, as Yuju's condition worsened every day.

"I don't want to," she murmured.

"What's the point of life if there isn't one?" she asked herself.

"There will be," Riki assured her.

"Heeseung will come back; he will do it eventually," said Sunghoon. Yuju sat up, tears welling in her eyes as she looked at him.

"But when? When will he tell me what happened? My heart is getting weaker day by day, and I can't bear it much longer."

"He was the one who gave me life and then took it away."

"How am I supposed to manage without him?"

Sad from Yuju's words, Jungwon looked around her room. He noticed an artificial rose, which sparked a thought.

"Roses lose their petals but bloom again," he said.

"Just wait a little longer for him, if you can't do otherwise," Yedam said. Yuju smiled sadly.

"But this rose won't bloom again."

"Does he like Yeona more now?"

"What does she have that I don't?"

"What did I do wrong?"

Yuju asked herself. She had reached her limit. She just wanted Heeseung to tell her what she did wrong, no matter whether they would be together or not.

There was a knock at the door, and Yedam went to open it. Quickly, Yuju wiped away her tears while Riki looked to see who it was.

"Yeona."

"What does that girl want here?" Garam asked, annoyed. She had never liked Yeona, not even on the first day. She immediately got an uneasy feeling about her.

"Yeona!" Yuju said, waving as she entered the room. Yeona smiled and handed her a basket of fruit.

"Nice to see you again, Yuju," she said, sitting next to her on the bed. She glanced at Garam, who stared back with a deadly glare, as if her eyes shot lethal laser beams. Riki pulled Garam up by the arm, and they both left the room.

"Sorry I couldn't visit you sooner. I've been busy with Heeseung," she said gently.

"It's okay, as long as he's fine," Yuju murmured.

"He's doing great," Yeona promised.

"So am I, as long as I can be with him and take care of him."

Yuju forced a smile. The pain returned to her heart.

"Has he still said nothing about why he doesn't want to have anything to do with me?" she asked. Yeona shook her head sadly.

"No, he hasn't said a single word about you."

Disappointed, Yuju nodded. All hope within her vanished. Heeseung didn't want her anymore.

Yeona checked the time and stood up.

"I have to go; Heeseung is waiting for me," she said, trying to leave, but Yuju quickly stepped in front of her.

"Heeseung? Is he here? Can I talk to him?" she asked excitedly. If he's here, she can finally learn the truth, whether they end up enemies or friends.
