dream.
Yuju woke up in a panic. Sweat ran down her forehead and her heart was pounding wildly.
After calming down for a few minutes, she sat up normally and leaned her head back against the wall.
Was all of that just a dream?
She felt betrayed. Why couldn't it really happen, but only exist in her head? Why?
Was it too much to ask for Heeseung to just talk to me?
"Shit," Yuju muttered and lay back down.
She had visited Heeseung more often this month, but only saw him from afar. Every single day she stood at his room door and looked through the small glass gap at him, sitting on his bed next to Yeona.
It broke her heart to see him happy with Yeona. She had it—she was supposed to be in Yeona's place. Just when her life had started to make sense, fate had to strike.
Yuju wanted to know why Heeseung didn't like her anymore. Did he have a false memory of her after the accident? Or does he blame her for having the accident?
"Heeseung, I love you," Yuju sobbed and closed her eyes.

"Yeona told me he's no longer in the hospital," said Yedam. He and Yuju were walking side by side in the park.
"So he's back at home?" Yuju asked, and Yedam nodded. It made her sad that he hadn't responded to a single letter from her.
"Yeona is still with him and taking care of him," Yedam said hesitantly, because he knew how much Yuju was suffering. She squeezed her eyes shut to keep from crying.
"Don't mess it up!"
As if hypnotized, Yuju followed the voice. Her head turned further to the right, toward a picnic area in the park. She saw Heeseung.
Her heart started beating faster. He could walk normally again. She missed him.
His eyes.
His hands.
His lips.
It was as if she was falling in love with him all over again. As if her heart had frozen and was now thawing.
"Hehe, stay still!" Yeona giggled. She was sitting on a picnic blanket with a sketchpad and pen. Heeseung stood under a tree, and it looked like he was posing while Yeona drew him.
Tears welled up in Yuju's eyes, but they were tears of joy. She was happy that he was doing well. That she could see and admire him again. She would admire him from afar until her heart beat its last.
"Yuju, we have to go," said Yedam. He noticed she was looking at Heeseung. Annoyed, Yedam rolled his eyes.
It bothered him that he couldn't make Yuju happy. He couldn't stand her suffering because of Heeseung anymore—but it was his own fault for leaving her.
"Just a few more minutes," Yuju murmured, not taking her eyes off Heeseung.
She knew how long she had left to live, but she would do it for Heeseung. Watching him made her smile and her heart beat faster. Her love for him had no limits.

"He's not coming back," said Riki.
"But miracles can happen," Yuju said as she powdered her face.
Yesterday, she had written Heeseung a letter inviting him over for coffee. Maybe less emotional letters would appeal to him more, to meet her.
