I thought she was dead…….. Zemira checked Saija around for any injuries. Saija kept trying to tell Zemira she was fine. The light in her eyes had returned. Zemira dragged Saija towards us.

“Can you check if she’s alright?”

“I keep telling you I’m fine,” Saija said, chuckling softly. I stared at her, until Lucian my bumped shoulder lightly. I looked at him and he signaled towards Zemira.

“Huh? Uh. Yeah. She looks….. Fine.” I tell Zemira who let out a sigh of relief. Zemira looked back at Saija with a serious look. She looked her up and down, noticing the blood that was staining her white shirt and green pants.

“What the hell happened back there?”

“I don’t know. I can’t remember anything.” she said as she scratched the back of her head. Her fingers were getting tangled in her messy brown hair.

“Are you sure you didn’t hit your head or anything?” she asked in a sarcastic tone. Saija slapped her arm “Meany.”  Mr. Rathus towards us. He kept an expressionless face on.

“You both did great. You both pass with an easy A+” At that point Zemira snapped.

“An easy A? What the hell was the point of this test? My sister and I would have died back there. And you would have waited until we were dead. I want to kill you so bad.”

“If I were you I wouldn’t get on bad terms with me,” he challenged looking at her through his lashes. Zemira stepped back as if she was already regretting it, she opened her mouth to speak again. Lucian placed his hand on her small back as if giving her confidence.

“Hell to that. Listen here, you old hag, if you pull out any more moves like this, I will kill you.”

“Are you challenging me?”  he asked with a smirk. Lucian and I stepped closer, “And what if she was? You wouldn’t want to disappoint your students now would you, Dear, sir.”  I said. He looked up at Lucian and me, fear registered in his eyes for a second, but it vanished quickly.

I continued,“It wasn't very teacher-like of you to talk to the Akuma and anger them. You wouldn’t want us to report you, right, sir?”  Mr.Ratus cleared his throat and took a deep breath.

“No, I wouldn't want any problems,” he cleared his throat, “Enjoy your day.” He glanced at Saija one last time and walked away, Saija raised her eyebrow in confusion.

“Why were you so mad at him? It was just a test.” Saija told Zemira. Zemira gave Saija a side-eye, then rolled her eyes.

“Can we check if her brain is working correctly?” Saija slapped Zemira’s arm, while Lucian and I laughed.

“Let’s take you to the infirmary to get it checked,” Lucian said mocking Saija who groaned out loud.

“You guys stop teasing me!” she cried out. Saija and Zemira walked in front of us. Zemira held onto Saija’s hand as if scared she would collapse any moment. Lucian stepped up and started walking with them, joining into their conversation. I stayed in the back, letting my mind wander.
What was that?
How did she suddenly get so powered up?
Her aura was so very violent, but how did that happen?
My head began to pound, I put my hand on my forehead hoping it would stop pounding.

“Hey, you okay?” Lucian asked me. I looked up, his black eyes had worry written into them. The girls had stopped and they were looking at me with worry too. I looked back at Lucian.

“Yeah, I’m fine. What’s wrong?” I asked him. He smirked.

“You happened to groan out loud.” Heat rose to my face and I cleared my throat. I shoved him away and walked ahead of him.

“I’m fine. You don’t have to worry about me.”

“Sure, that's what they all say,. until they drop dead.” he called out behind me making me roll my eyes. The pain in my head happened to increase, making me see black spots. I took a deep breath, and closed my eyes. A hand lightly grabbed my shoulder. I opened my eyes and turned around to stare into red-brownish eyes. The breath from my lungs was caught in my throat.

“Are you okay?” she asked me slowly and softly. I nodded as I continued to stare deep into her eyes. The pain in my head had subsided. She smiled back in relief and walked back to Zemira. Lucian placed his hand on my shoulder.

“Looks like my brother is falling,” he teased me. I pushed him, in embarrassment. My ears are tingling.

“No, I have not. Mind your own damn business,” I told him. Lucian chuckled at my embarrassment.  We kept walking in silence. Zemira and Saija talking in hushed tones, but their giggles filled the empty hallways. Saija's eyes were wide and a big smile was spread across her face. I remember my biological mother always used to tell me a love story.

“ Mom had never finished the story but each time when I was about to drift to the darkness I would always hear her say.

“I hope someone comes to save you my little prince.”  Is Saija the one my mom was begging to God about? Lucian swung his arm around my shoulders.

“What’re you thinking about?” he asked me softly.

“Nothing,” I lied. We never really talked about our pasts to each other. If we did, it was good stuff. Recalling the haunting flashbacks can hurt way worse than any blade or bullet.
