Ellie wandered purposefully around the town, determined to find a familiar land mark. Hailey would have easily navigated them home if she was there, but she wasn't. It's hard, as Ellie had learned earlier that day, to follow someone who can teleport without knowing how to teleport or where they went.
Time skip back one day.
"How are we going to get across that?"Asked Ellie.
"Good question." Agreed Will.
"That's not the question here." Said Hailey.
"Then what is?" Asked Eric.
"If elemental magic is the only kind of magic, how did they make that?"
This shut everyone up as they tried to answer that question. But there was only one possible answer.
"Elemental magic can't be the only type of magic." Concluded Eric. No one argued.
As they looked at the giant canyon blocking their path, none could come up with a way across. It would have been fine if it was just an ordinary pit. Ellie could have built a rock bridge over it if it were. Will and Eric could have flown them over of it were. But no, it had to be magical pit that seemingly went down forever, surrounded the entire forest surrounding the giant cylinder, blocked all elemental magic used above or on it, and turned every other item put above it to ashes. This has all been found by a series of tests, and they had no clue what other defenses the pit had.
Another form of magic..... Thought Eric, remembering his dreams. Think three times....think what three times? What you want to happen? That seems surprisingly simple, but it makes sense.... Take us across the canyon safely. Take us across the canyon safely. Take us across the canyon safely.
Nothing.
"Magic." Eric muttered.
"Maybe we should-" Hailey began, but was interrupted by a bell like sound. Then suddenly they were on the other side of the canyon.
Time skip back ten minutes.
"Are you sure?" Asked Kylie.
There was a ten second/eternity long pause.
"Not as sure as Jay would have been, but yes." Answered Ivan.
Jay had once been the most powerful magic user in the organization. Even more so than Jacquelyn, until he died. He had been the only one who had ever actually thought of raising Jacquelyn as a priority. It was a shame when he died.
"Let's go then." Said Kylie and the five left to try again to kidnap Eric, leaving Jacquelyn to sit around and think.
Time skip forward nine minutes and thirty seconds. (The above took thirty seconds.)
"Well, no clue how we did it, but we got across the canyon. I guess that means we're free."
"But we aren't. We have to figure out a way to save the others from the Plan."
Eric was surprised.
"Can't we just tell the police?"
Everyone else stared at him.
"And end up in a mental house?"
"We could show the police our magic."
"They'd think they were dreaming. Don't you remember how much it took me to convince you?"
Eric boiled with anger at the subject, but he didn't want to discuss it.
"Then how do you propose we save them?"
And that's when a group of five adults appeared next to them. One grabbed Eric. One tried to grab Will, but it took two to contain him. Same for Hailey. No one gave Ellie a second glance before disappearing.Hi guys! Ok, this is just me letting you know that it's extremely unlikely that you're going to get another update this week. Sorry! Anyways, sorry if you couldn't follow all the time-y wime-y (DOCTOR WHO) time skips.
