Day 8

" Lili, would you come in my office I spilled my coffee on the floor."

I could've spilled it on your head.

" I'm coming right away Anna. "

I took the stairs and hurried to her office seeing as it was already 11.16 a.m and I had my lunch date with Jai. Was it a date though ? Probably not.
I knocked to be polite.

" Come in ! "

I opened the door not bothering to look at Anna, searching for the coffee spilled instead.

" Finally ! You took your time to come here, come on hurry up I'm receiving someone in a few. I'm not paying you to stand around. "

" Is this what you are calling paying ? "

I mumbled to myself. Unfortunately she heard it.

" Excuse me young lady ? You should be grateful that we are keeping you after what you did ! You should be grateful we even give you a work or else what would you be doing ? Nothing because you don't even have education, you have nothing but us ! "

" If I'm so much if a burden for you why don't you just report me to the police saying that I am violent and stuff huh ? Oh right because you have to keep me till 21 ! What the fuck is that bullshit Anna ? "

" Believe me that if I could I would, you are nothing but bad news.
And it is your idiot of a father who made this thing up about not wanting you to be alone until you were 21 ! "

" Don't you dare call him that ! You don't know him, he was so much more better than you or Christoph will ever be, you have literally no right to call him that..you have n-no right.."

Tears were beginning to gather in my eyes, I was trying my best to hold them in not wanting to show the evil who stands before me any weakness.

" Is the baby gonna cry ? "

I couldn't speak anymore. It would be to harsh. Or I would break down in front of her.
So I just got on my knees and began cleaning the stain on the carpet. I heard her scoff and sit at her wide desk.
I quickly finished and left without a word.
I took out my phone, flipped it open and got to Jai's contact.

" Hello Lili "

" Hi "

" How are you ? "

" Fine "

"..."

" When do you want to meet up ? "

" Let's say at noon by the memorial statue ? "

" Yeah, okay okay, um bye "

I didn't let him the chance to reply and hung up.

11.34 a.m

I drove downtown, hardly finding a parking place.

I sat by the memorial statue now on to wait twenty minutes for an Australian guy.

After a solid five minutes, I noticed the place was desert. I played a Tetris on my phone when I saw a shadow in the corner of my eye. I smiled to myself thinking that he came here early for me.
I acted like I didn't see him, like I didn't see his well built frame.

After a few seconds, I felt his presence next to mine, but what I felt next wasn't expected.
His hand gripped harshly my wrist getting me to get up and cry out in pain.

" What the fuck Jai ! "

" Who is that Jai huh baby ? "

As I looked up it surely wasn't Jai. A man in his late thirties with a week old beard was sickly smiling down at me.
