I woke up early this morning. 5 a.m. I would be leaving with Chris and Anna in one and a half hour so I just got ready anyways. I knew Anna would get up in about thirty minutes so I quietly slipped myself in the kitchen to take an apple in the fruit basket and ran upstairs to eat it.
I picked out my new jeans and top to change later and dressed in my work blue disgusting attire and my favorite underwear, red. No makeup would just do, it's not like I needed to be that presentable. I looked over my desk and saw the envelope Chris gave me yesterday.
I sat in the desk chair and opened it.
Inside were the address, the mention of the material I would need, the time I should begin at but strangely there wasn't any ending time and car keys. Wait car keys ? That was unexpected, I thought I would have to carry the whole thing on the bus. There was also a little letter from..Chris !
Lili, I would like you not to mess this up please, this is an important place for us, important client. You shall look presentable to show a good image of our company and be nice. Clean well, don't bother anyone and please don't cut yourself out of the world with the music device of yours.
You'll get a total of one hundred and sixty dollars for this week plus your usual month pay. You'll have to clean the whole building, all the seven levels. On Monday you'll check will the receptionist for a schedule for your cleaning tour. On this point, work well Lili, don't make me regret.
I made a paper ball out of this letter, finding it completely useless. Seven levels, this would take me forever.
I went back in the bathroom and did some makeup to help me look actually joyful, fully awake and happier?
When we left to the office today in the car no words were spoken toward me, like if I was invisible.
I went through my everyday routine, cleaning each room in a precise order not to bother anyone. At 11.10 I was done so I headed toward the storage room with my list in hand. I quickly gathered everything I would need this afternoon and went to the parking lot searching for my ' car of the week'.
I stuffed everything in it. It wasn't a brand new car, it even might be the crappiest but that would work just well. I drove to Suzy & Mary and ate in peace.
Back in the car, I entered the address in the GPS and followed the annoying voice's instructions.
I pulled up in front of big grey building.
" No way."
As Christoph would have said ' Yes way' I was in front of the same building I was in less than a week ago. I groaned as I checked the time 1 p.m. I should start in thirty minutes so I entered anyways to have time discovering the whole building. I was greeted by the same woman still chewing on a gum not sparing me a glance. I huffed as I walked toward her will all my stuff, put everything down with a loud thud as I was at the front desk to indicate my presence.
She looked up and strangely a sly smirk appeared on her face.
" You're the preggo girl right ?"
I rolled my eyes at her confidence in what she was saying.
" No I'm not pregnant I'm actua-"
" Oh yeah the therapy group ! "
