The morning dawned bright and suspiciously quiet in the Stark Tower, an unusual silence that Tony and Steve picked up on immediately. For a household constantly buzzing with life, the absence of noise was a sign that something mischievous was already underway. Tony exchanged a knowing glance with Steve as they made their way to the kitchen, bracing themselves for whatever the twins might have concocted this time.
As soon as they crossed the doorway, a cascade of glitter exploded over their heads, covering them from hair to shoes in a gleaming mess of gold, silver, and a surprising amount of neon pink. The glitter stuck to their pajamas, sparkling brightly under the morning light.
Tony stared down at himself, raising an eyebrow. “I knew the glitter was coming, but neon pink? Really?”
Steve shook his head, but there was a smirk playing at the corner of his lips. “Well, at least they’re consistent. It looks like they’ve taken your love for a dramatic entrance to heart.”
Suddenly, they heard the sound of stifled giggles from behind the doorway. Peter and Morgan stepped into view, both holding their sides as they laughed.
Peter grinned. “Good morning, Dad, Pops! Like the new look?”
Morgan, eyes shining with mischief, added, “We just thought you could use a little... sparkle.”
Tony crossed his arms, trying to appear serious despite his own laughter bubbling up. “Oh, so this is how it’s gonna be, huh? Well, you two better watch your backs because you just declared a war. And we’re not backing down.”
Steve joined in with a mock-stern nod. “And we play to win.”
Peter and Morgan glanced at each other, their laughter fading into nervous smiles as they backed out of the room. They could tell by the glint in Tony’s eyes that he wasn’t bluffing.

The first retaliation came that afternoon.
Peter and Morgan had just settled onto the couch with snacks, feeling proud of their morning prank. Suddenly, the lights flickered, and they heard an ominous whirring sound. A soft, automated voice filled the room:
“Welcome to the Stark Tower Prank Defense System. Today’s target: Peter and Morgan.”
Peter’s eyes went wide. “Oh no…”
Before they could react, a harmless but surprisingly cold spray of water shot down from hidden nozzles in the ceiling, misting them both with chilly droplets. They shrieked, trying to shield themselves as they scrambled to escape the living room.
Morgan let out a breathless laugh. “They’re definitely not holding back!”
As the two made their way back to their rooms to dry off, they found their doors taped with signs: “Target Locked: Prepare for Ultimate Retaliation.”
That night, they went to bed, bracing themselves for the next move.

The real masterstroke of Tony and Steve’s prank came the following morning. When Peter and Morgan woke up, they felt a strange, squishy sensation beneath them. Sitting up, they realized that their mattresses had been replaced with gigantic whoopee cushions, each one rigged to let out a ridiculously loud sound whenever they moved.
Morgan gasped in shock as she sat up, setting off the cushion with an exaggerated noise that echoed through the room. “Oh my god!”
Tony’s voice crackled over the intercom. “Good morning, pranksters! Hope you enjoyed your custom bedding upgrade. Consider it a lesson in humility.”
