Falling For The Nanny

Chapter Seven

Nicki's POV
Two weeks later

It's been two weeks and I can honestly say, I love this job. I have yet to meet this "Beyonce" but I haven't let that affect my job. Tina has come by to check on us in their mother's absence. My weekend off was nice, I spent it at home with my mom. We had a girls day that I paid for and that alone made me feel good. Today I had to run out with Ms.Tina to grab things for the twins party tomorrow. She rented out a venue and their mom was doing a carnival for them. Turning three was a big deal and they were very excited for the day.

I yawned climbing out of bed with a stretch. Going into my bathroom getting myself together. My phone rang and I answered knowing it was only one of two people and knowing the time it ain't my mother. I answered the phone hearing my best friend voice ring out.

"Hiiiii best fraaaaaaan." I smile shaking my head. It's too damn early for her to be this live.

"Hi lo. What's up." I asked while wiping my face of sleep from my face. I won't be doing too much with my face.

"I miss my bestie. How's work been?"

"It's honestly been good. These kids keep me busy, so busy that I haven't thought about daddy for the first time since he passed." Hearing me say that made me really think. Cause I really haven't thought about daddy, or been crying, I was finally learning to breath without the thought of him.

"That's really good." We talked for a lil bit longer before she asked when I would come home to visit.

"Girl why you don't come down here? You can stay with mommy and when I'm not working we can go out." I suggest fixing my ponytail, washing my hands flicking off the light, leaving the bathroom taking my phone with me.

"That don't seem like a bad idea, ion know about that heat though."

"Says the bitch from Georgia."

"Girl Georgia heat ain't got shit on Texas. When I come imma need pool access or something."

"Oh it's a pool here. So now when will you be coming down here?" I asked as I slipped on some active wear leggings my ugg slides and a tee. Me being comfortable was my main goal.

"Hmm maybe July or August." She said.

"That works for me." We talked a while more while I cooks breakfast for the kids and i. By the time I was finished we hung up with a promise to talk to each other once I was settled in for the night.

I left the kitchen going to blue room first.

"Come on mama time to eat and get our day started." I tapped her a few times before she got up going into the bathroom. Once she was done I helped her brush her teeth and wash her face. Blue followed me to the twins room as I got them ready. We all left out the room twins holding onto either one of my hands while blue walked ahead of us. I got to the dinning area, sitting the three in their respective seats going to the kitchen to make their plates. I noticed they enjoyed the waffles from ihop, so that's what I did for them this morning. After making their plates and cutting up the food, I took them their food going back to make self a plate. We said our grace, something they picked up on me doing. We ate while the kids talked about tomorrow. I was happy to actually be apart of it, their little faces lighting up at the thought of the party is what got me.

Finally we were done eating. I took the kids to the twins room, and rushed to blue room to get had an outfit. I then went back to the twins room taking them three in the bathroom to wash their face and hands. We all bathed the night before so I just had to dress them.

"Oni, I can do it." Blue said making me smile. One by one I handed her items so she wasn't too overwhelmed with dressing herself. By the time they were dressed I checked and saw Ms.Tina text saying she was in route. I sat them down and gave both rumi and blue Afro puffs, swooping their edges. Then sprayed some rose water and coconut oil in sure hair picking out his curls. Once I was done and checked my phone seeing Ms Tina was outside. I grabbed the twins reeling blue to come on while she carried their IVY PARK baby bag. We made our way outside after I put on the alarm. Ms.Tina got out helping me with them, o got in the car and Tina pulled off.

We drove to some smooth jazz, making our way to the first stop which was some fancy version of party city. We needed face paint for that booth, vision goodie bags, sparklers, good and black plates and food baskets among other things. When we grabbed everything that was needed we paid and was out the door on to the next spot. Ms. Tina wanted to grab the cake before tomorrow and she would take it to her house. I held the cake on my lap while we drove to a spot for lunch. It was a soul food spot and bbq spot, you could smell the food from a mile away literally. We finally pulled in and Tina got out first helping me with the cake, securing it in the seat. I got the kids out sir was asleep so I had to carry him while blue took my hand and rumi took Tina's hand.

"Oh Tina how are ya!" An older short lady spoke, coming from around the corner. They conversed while we followed them to a booth, the kids in the middle, tine and I had on the ends.

"Mmhmm she's good these her babies." Tina said to the woman. They chatted a bit and the woman, I've come to learn was the owner took our orders. The kids got chicken wings and baked Mac and green beans, I pretty much got the same thing but with greens and a side of yams. When I saw this food was good it was good, the table was quiet for the most part cause it was so good.

So how have you been?" Tina asked eating a pieces of corn bread.

Great actually! How about you." I smiled grabbing a sip of lemonade.

That's good to hear and I'm good, be glad when tomorrow passes." She sighed. I understood some of the stress. I nod in understanding.

How's you mom doing? How she liking Texas?"

So far so good. She like the different scenery."

Yea that's how my best girlfriend was when she first moved here." Tina smiled at the memory. An half hour more and we were done, Tina paid and we went to her house to drop off the cake. We ended up making dinner. I swear she reminded me of a southern version of my mother. We continued to get to know each other and before you knew it, I was time for us to go. Tina made me another plate and a daughter a large rubber ware bowl of food and she sent us on our way with her driver.

The drive wasn't too bad, maybe twenty minutes and we were pulling up. The fair who name was Stu waved at me through the back window before letting us in the gate. One by one I took them in the house and disarming the alarm, thanking the driver once I got the last of the bags.

I bathed the children putting them to bed. I think we were all exhausted, so once I showered  got dressed in some black boy shorts and a tank top hopping in bed. I quickly texted Lo telling her we'd talk in the morning, before laying down letting sleep take me.

After some hours I woke up thirsty and had to pee. I checked the phone seeing it was 2a, I yawned getting up going into the bathroom. Once I was done I washed my hands leaving out the my room going down to the kitchen. I turned on the light grabbing a bottle of water. I saw both plates from Tina house in the fridge so I heated mines up opening my  water downing it. I hadn't realized I was this thirsty. Water dripped down my chin to my neck. A throat cleared and I looked to the voice and froze. My eyes bulging from my head.

OH MY GOSH THE GISELLE WAS STANDING IN FRONT OF ME........

And like that I saw darkness.......
