Winter break was very close and Horace Slughorn had scheduled his annual Slug Club Christmas party a few days prior to the commencement of the holidays. Every member was encouraged to attend and even bring along a plus one.
Fiona Potter, like the previous year, had asked Remus to accompany her. Lily had asked Maya to come along, which annoyed James as he was eagerly hoping that he would be going with Lily.
Fiona was in the girls dormitory, slipping on her heels as Marlene and Alice helped Maya and Lily put on the final touches. Lily was wearing a bubblegum pink dress that hugged her body until it flowed down to the floor like water from below the waist. Her red locks had been styled to curl down her back. Maya was wearing a black dress that sparkled and dazzled like a disco ball, fitting the young Patil perfectly. Maya's hair was done up into a bun, a french braid adorning her head.
Fiona stood up and was ready to leave for the boys dormitory, when Marlene stopped her.
"Not so fast, Fi, give us a twirl and make our souls leave our bodies before you go." Marlene said, smirking at the girl, who rolled her brown orbs with an amused smile and did as asked.
Marlene clapped gleefully, "Gorgeous as always, Potter." The young McKinnon winked and the other girls nodded in agreement, to which Fiona smiled and thanked them before making her way to the boys' dormitory.
Upon arriving there, Fiona gently rapped her knuckles on the wooden door. After a few quiet moments, a voice weakly called out, "Come in."
Fiona pushed open the door, frowning slightly, and it only deepened when she stepped into the room. Remus was tucked in bed, his arm covering his eyes as he laid. Fiona's brows creased together in concern.
"Rem?" She softly called out, moving to the young Lupin's bedside, "Are you alright?"
Remus raised his arm up and fluttered open his eyes, green orbs slowly flickering to the young Potter beside him whose features were etched with concern.
"I'm not feeling well, and I'm terribly sorry but I don't think I can go-"
"Nonsense, Rem, of course you can't go!" Fiona interrupted, her hands coming to rest on her hips.
Remus let out a cough, making Fiona sigh as she placed her hand in his hair, gently massaging his head.
"Fiona-"
The young Lupin cut off as the door to the bathroom swung open and the pair turned to look at Sirius step out, dressed in his best formal clothes. His grey eyes landed on Fiona and he visibly brightened, his signature smirk landing on his features.
"Ready to go, Fona?"
FIona blinked in surprise, eyebrows raised. "What?"
Sirius merely shot her a mischievous grin, "Remus didn't tell you?"
