Chapter 16

Rin's POV

I woke to Sesshomaru rubbing soothing patterns over my skin that was exposed after sleeping. I smiled up at him, and thought of last night. He held me in his arms, nothing more, just holding me, that is all I had wanted, to be held in his arms, to know that he was with me still. I snuggled into his side more and sighed, I have missed this so.

"Rin?"

"Yes?"

"Would you like to know why have been so busy?"

"YOu know I love to know, but something tells me that you don't always like to share."

There seemed to be hurt that flashed through his eye, but it was gone almost as quickly as it had come.

"I need to show you something mate."

"What?"

He stood, and got dressed, he wore only that of comfort clothing, and I only wore my kimono that was giving to me since I am bigger now. Sesshomaru held his hand out to me and I took it, allowing him to guide me to the room next door to ours. He stopped at the door, and told me to close my eyes. "Sesshomaru wh...?"

"Keep them closed."

"Alright." I heard him open the door, and he took my hands guiding me into the room. I heard him close the door and then him telling me to open my eyes. When I opened them, I had no idea what to think. I couldn't find the words. He had been doing this the whole time, not just meetings or work, but he was doing this as well, no wonder he has been so tired. THe room is perfect for our little man, I just have that feeling you know.

The room was white, with a blueish tint to it, and there was a crib white crib that had a cloth over the top to keep the sun out of the baby's eyes when the sun rises. A rocking chair from Kagome's time was in the corner and next to it was a changing station for me to change the baby. along with a dresser and a closet too. I looked to Sesshomaru and continued to look at the room. The ceiling was a map of the West, the art of it was amazing. The strokes of the brushes that were used were perfect, and the colors blended together nicely. That must have taken forever. I also noticed a book shelf so that when he gets older he can read books, and also I could have a few children books that I could read to him already. there was so much detail in the work of the this room from the curtains on the windows, and the design of the furniture. "Sesshomaru...I...." I didn't know what to say, or how to say it. "You did this?"

"You seem so surprised."

"Well..." I never thought he had it in him to be this amazing, this perfect. I turned to look at him, I smiled from ear to ear like i had when i was a kid. He walked over to me, and placed his hands on either side of my stomach.

His forehead now on mine, "You two will always be happy and safe."

I ran my hands up his chest and to his shoulders. "Will you be happy as well?"

"If both of you are well and happy, then yes."

"What did I do to deserve you?" I asked out loud, although it was more of me thinking out loud to myself really.

"I believe it is the other way around." He moved a strand of hair from my face, to behind my ear. I leaned into his hand as he leaned closer to kiss me. I kissed him back. "It has been hard these past few months, but it is all for you, for the both of you, understand that rin."

I nodded, "I understand."

He pulled me in to hug, and then something felt off. The atmosphere changed, and I had no idea what was happening, Sesshomaru growled, and I held onto his arm tightly.
